Go and see these fine people. Or order online with them. I was able to get my hands on my absolute favorite distortion pedal. Ordered it on Saturday, got it on Tuesday.
Thank you for the stellar service!
Bought a new Yamaha digital piano today. Very happy with the deal I received during their back-to-school sale !
Great, knowledgeable service, wide range of stellar products, no pushy sales practices. What more do you want?
99.9% it’s amazing. Beyond amazing. Sometimes attitude of very very few staff can be misconstrued. It’s the attitude I some how have a hard time getting over. I can never tell if I was the one who ruined their day or a customer prior. But it is still a great store! Full of knowledgeable staff who are more “people friendly” you’ll know the ones.
Great customer service. My only issue is a lot of “marked as new” guitars look like used models. Purchased a new guitar but had a few dings and buzzing but still sold as new. Takes away the unboxing experience and not cool for an expensive instrument.
Huge inventory and great customer service
The worst customer service….spent 777 dollars on a guitar amp and couldn’t even get a free set strings.. ‘here’s 3 picks’. This is the worst Long & McQuades in Canada. I’ve been in the Kitchen Ontario, Hamilton Ontario, and also Saskatoon 43st Long & McQuade which I strongly suggest you bring your business to. At least the gentleman behind the counter at the 43st location put more effort in to try to keep my business.
Went in today to buy my 2 daughters a guitar. We walked around for 15 mins and no one came to offer assistance. This one guy who worked there and was in the guitar section just walked past us and said “whats up” and kept walking by us. I can tell you whats up is that u just lost a customer !
Terrible service.

Went to buy guitar strings for my grandson’s guitar. He asked one of the salesperson if he could try one of the electric guitars. The salesperson said no problem and set everything up for him. My grandson was one happy boy. Thanks so much for making a 9 year boy happy and showing him some cords.
I stopped by to rent an electric piano, and this nice guy called Aaron was very helpful and my seven-year-old also enjoyed walking around and trying different instruments.
Thanks for the great experience
Very helpful staff. ( Thanks Murrey ) lots of good products at low prices. They also price match !!
Good selection of instruments, accessories and gear.
Staff very helpful
I was very happy with the assistance that I received. My kids and I came into the store to look at a guitar. Tim was super friendly and answered my dumb questions without making me feel dumb. I appreciate that. I have more purchases to make and if I receive the same treatment I have no problem returning. The others that stated their issues, I had none of those problems.
Ordered a piano on early october. Was first told they would deliver me a new piano on first week of November…. Which eventually dragged on 3 reschedules later a very rude agent told me on the phone that it would be maybe delivered in december or March… Very unprofessional and rude. They take your money and try to sell you their showroom used goods by pushing the delivery till you get frustrated. Every time you call them they say we have a almost new one we just opened the box… Well then they shud have fulfilled their commitment before they stocked their show rooms…
This has nothing to do with the staff at L&M but everything to do with choice. Their guitar selection has become lesser and lesser over the years, to the point where they barely keep any Ibanez in stock. I’ve also seen guitars in there that I wouldn’t buy due to not being properly set up or having some problems straight from the manufacturer. It would be refreshing to see some new competition in town.
My son, who has been saving for quite some time, purchased a new guitar. As this guitar was a special order item, we were notified when it arrived at the store and ready for pickup. Upon inspection of the guitar at the store, there was significant damage to the body and finish. The employee immediately spoke with the manager; the manager admitted that the guitar was dropped and damaged by an employee when it arrived at the store. Rather than contacting me and explaining what they did to the guitar, the manager tried to offer my son a discount of $250–on a $2,100 instrument! Thankfully my 14 year-old son was not alone in the store, as they were ready to let him leave with the damaged guitar. In conclusion, a new guitar has been ordered to replace what they damaged . . .

Absolutely awesome place I bought a guitar today and I’m very happy with it
Good instrument supplier
As the largest music store in regina, I have come here quite a bit for purchases. Customer service has always been quit hit or miss. I have often found some employees are a little pretentious. Asking for advice/opinions can end up making you feel silly for even asking. It’s not always the most welcoming atmosphere. Pretty good selection though
Reasonably good service if you know what you’re after.
I struggle with L and M. One one hand, they easily have the best selection in the city, which is awesome.
My struggle comes with the service from some of the guys who’ve been there for years. I think it’s become more of a place where they can talk about how good they were and the awesome gigs they’ve played, rather than help customers. Again, not all staff, just a couple of the older employees.
And finally, I’ll give another kudos before I leave. L&M has a great return policy. I’ve had to return stuff and they are terrific to work with.
I love music, always have, I’ve been a musician for years and was very excited to check out this location as I’ve been to other branches across the country. That was until some old white dude was mercilessly following me around without any dialogue while I was just trying to mind my own business and scope out potential new gear. He wasn’t dressed in any uniform indicating he worked there. But considering he was near by in every. Single. department. I checked out, made me feel overwhelmingly uncomfortable and unwelcome. If this is your practice to a new customer. I’ll be taking my money elsewhere. If this is a one off, tell that old dude to chill on the racial profiling.
I went in yesterday early, store had just opened. I was the only customer and possibly one more customer came in while I was there.
I was looking to spend around $1500 on an acoustic guitar.
Staff were having a grand old time chatting to each other. I spent some time in the guitar room and then wandered the store aimlessly for around 15 minutes waiting for someone to offer assistance.
No one approached me so I left empty handed.
I have read numerous reviews today prior to posting this review and I see this lack of customer service is a general theme with negative reviews in this Regina store.
Very disappointed
Been in there 3 times.. only one bad time cause the guy made me feel stupid when im just starting playing guitar but the other 2 times awesome service and help
4. Mosaic
Address: 189 13 St E, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0V6, Canada , South District , Saskatchewan , Canada
“Home-y” atmosphere, professional expertise, and good and kind people who love and are deeply committed to what they do. We love our Mosaic family.
The Staff at Mosaic is very helpful. Regardless of making any purchases or not, they are friendly courteous and kind. The atmosphere in the store is inviting and feels like “home.” I would recommend Mosaic to anyone who may be shopping for any musical necessities. If you are in need of lessons, an instrument, or advice – this is the place to be. Only GREAT experiences have been had at Mosaic!
Hours posted online are wrong
I had the pleasure of discovering the hidden gem that is the music store in our small town. It’s a true haven for music enthusiasts. The store boasts a remarkable selection of instruments, offering a wealth of options for every taste. The friendly and knowledgeable staff add a personal touch to the experience, making it the go-to destination for music lovers in our community.
Staff knowledgeable
A shipment of mine was delivered here, and they entered my inventory in their system & began selling my merchandise.
Tried to call them and discuss the situation, no call back.
#1 it’s illegal to open packages that don’t have your name & address on it.
Deleting any bad rating gets you a 5 star, good thinking
5. Sunrise Records
Address: Midtown Plaza, 201 1 Ave S, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1J9, Canada , South District , Saskatchewan , Canada
Pretty good selection on CDs, vinyls and movies. If you don’t see what you want there’s a strong chance they can bring it in for you as well! Lots of good knickknacks and merch as well.
Good selection & friendly, helpful staff.
Love the selection and has lots of other fun items from tv shows, movies and games. Love yhis store
Great selection of movies and music
Good record place to visit
Awesome store love the staff
Constantly closed. Sign always on the door saying “back in 15 mins” but even an hour later in the mall, go back and it’s still closed with the same sign on the window. Clearly management needs to keep better track of their employees
cool place but horrible vinyl selection and variety
This place has lost my business. First time I’ve ever been in the Saskatoon store and the lady that’s working 100% ignores all the customers. They don’t have the new album that I went to get. The answer I got from her was rude and unhelpful. Guess I’m buying it online. HMV was so much better. Don’t go there unless you want rude and unhelpful service
6. B Sharp Music
Address: 1530 Albert St, Regina, SK S4P 2S4, Canada , South District , Saskatchewan , Canada
Learned some things about having a new guitar. Owner is very helpful and knowledgeable. Good selection of used guitars and some hand crafted guitars.
Awesome place knowledgeable staff
Very good people!
Great little local shop. A nice alternative to L&M
Small shop, so not a lot on the floor, but they’re very knowledgeable and very good for getting stuff ordered in. Talk to Craig. He’s excellent.
Phoned in looking for a cable for my keyboard/piano. Very helpful.
Dirty atmosphere, scattered and incomplete selection. Staff ignored questions and opted instead to tell me about their personal experiences in the music industry and spent a fair amount of time trash talking other music stores in the city, as well as threatening that the product I was after (which was recommended to me by an industry professional) was a bad product (it has served me well so far,) I believe though that this was to help push an alternative sales agenda as the solution the salesperson came up with for me (which would have worked well I must admit) was $500 more than the $200 budget I was upfront with him in declaring.
When I turned down his solution he began to berate me as an artist, claiming that I would not be able to accomplish much unless I spent at LEAST as much as he was trying to sell me.
Will never return.
7. Ed’s Musical Instrument Repair
Address: 94 Arnason Crescent, Saskatoon, SK S7H 4M8, Canada , South District , Saskatchewan , Canada
Very friendly and knowledgable in lots of different instruments. His repairs are very good and very reasonable prices too. Love this store.
Ed has been in Saskatoon for a really long time, and has completed repairs for us numerous times on various instruments, etc. His prices are very reasonable. Small town shop, in a big city.
Ed is awesome, a genuine caring bloke who truly cares about music rather than the money. Depending on the repair he might not even charge you for the parts I know I’ve been in to get stuff repaired and I got the repair done but I didn’t end up paying for it because Ed just wanted to help out a musician. Ed has been great since his shop was on Broadway and he will continue to be my go to spot to get a instrument tuned up or repaired until he’s no longer operating shop.
Best guitar shop in town for sure
Had a local luthier do some work on my violin, including fitting a new bridge, which I thought to be unsatisfactory. Ed fitted another new bridge, did it same day, did a very good job and for a quarter of the price. Unfortunately, I think he is cheating himself if he continues to charge such low pricess. Seems to be a fine, honest gentleman.
Friendly and very knowledgeable
Great customer service!!
Looks worse than a pawn shop, very dirty and unorganized
Took my electric bass to him to get it straightened out, called me three days later to take a look at it, the neck was still warped and now convex and the action on the strings really low. I left it with him for another week to straighten the neck and when I came back it was still slightly warped and convex. When I took it home and got it tuned it was impossible to play without extreme buzzing on every note (open strings also buzz). He’s a nice man and he didn’t charge me anything, but I would definitely not recommend, considering the neck is in a worse condition than before I gave it to him.
Ed is a very good and caring person, but I’m afraid he just doesn’t know what he’s doing, at least with guitars anyway. I took the guitar to get the neck adjusted. Fairly simple procedure, just adjust the truss rod. However, I had to take it back to him 3 times and he would just attribute the problem to something else each and every time. In the end, I can see that he didn’t even adjust the truss rod because the neck is still warped.
Bottom line: be careful
8. St John’s Music
Address: 1420 Albert St, Regina, SK S4R 2R7, Canada , South District , Saskatchewan , Canada
They help you a lot with finding what you need and they dont let you down
Beautiful guitars in here quaint little place
Staff is friendly and seem to know their stuff
Quick-service would rent from here again.
No variety
Been taking my flute here for maintenance for 9 years. For the last two, it comes back to me with loose screws and poor cleaning. Will not ever consider taking it back to be looked at; I feel they just throw it in cleaning solution for a few minutes then charge me for a full tune up.
Horrible experience thus far. Spent $11,000+ on a Yamaha digital grand piano in January 2020 (Regina store). Had issues with dead keys right from the start. Left messages for piano sales to call me…two weeks went by waiting for them to return my calls but they never did. Had to track the sales person down myself. She was very evasive about what my options were. Now waiting for their third party service technician to call. Will never buy another instrument from St. John’s.
9. John’s Music
Address: 37 Main St N, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0V8, Canada , South District , Saskatchewan , Canada
Lots of merchandise and if they don’t have it, they will try their best to get it.
Knowledgeable staff and friendly service. Very good prices! Highly recommend this store.
This place is good for music instruments.. they are friendly.. there are lot of various guitars
Friendly service had the guitar came in to pickup. Saw some other instruments they may be in to purchase in New year sometime
They go all out to give you the service and satisfaction that you want and need. A great place with good people..
My husband and 2 adult sons were in the store on Saturday September 15th from about 4:30-4:50. They were interested in buying a bass guitar. No one spoke to them the entire time that they were in the store. There was a person behind the counter. They left without any interaction from the staff. This was disappointing because we were hoping to support a local business. Oh well, off to Long and McQuade.
Dislike
10. Main Street Music And Books
Address: 517 Main St, Humboldt, SK S0K 2A0, Canada , South District , Saskatchewan , Canada
Lots of equipment. Really great place and staff is very helpful and nice!
The music teacher is great!
We visited the store to see what they had for a beginner guitar. The salesperson was very knowledgeable about each unit they had and took the time to explain which features we gained as we processed in models. He offered to show us a bit of how each guitar sounded and helped us find the right one for lessons. The store itself featured a huge selection instruments and accessories. Thankfully I was able to pull myself away from the mixer rack long enough to see everything else on offer. Overall a great experience.
Great product selection. Very friendly staff.
Variety and decent pricing
Friendly staff with great knowledge of their products and services.
Thanks for the sign that shows how you’re a bunch of ignorant people. Made my decision very easy to go with literally anyone else. Wish I could give zero stars.
