I happened to visit LA music with a friend with nothing more than curiosity and love for guitars. The team at LA music, Sam specifically was patient enough to answer a bunch of newbie question with a smile and made my first guitar buying experience pleasant. I have received great customer support for the follow up purchases and my Stratocaster arrived well and in time. The pricing was competitive even with online retailers. They have gone above and beyond to support my needs and its always a pleasure interacting with them.
Excellent working with Sam at L.A. Music. Great communication and support. Highly recommended!
Great buying experience, first class service and shipping is always fast and on time. Best place to order from and always has lots of stock on whatever it is your looking for. I highly recommend if you haven’t check them out please do cheers
Worth checking out
Usually have what is needed. Online shipping hurts though. And the employees act friendly but it doesn’t seem genuine.
Summer hour is ridiculous, traveled all the way here and they are closed. Understand why people want to work less in the summer, though.
Would not allow try out of guitars because theirs are too “high end”.
——————————-
Reply to the above post is at best misleading.
Unlike all instrument stores that I have patronized over the past 50+ years- they refuses\ to allow people to try out the instruments prior to purchase. Despite having a showroom and storefront, their reply stated they were “an online store”. This can cause online customers to think store had been asked to ship a guitar on spec for try out as opposed to trying it out in their store.
Experienced musicians know that
1. Just like cars, two guitars of the same model are not necessarily identical. There can be lemons.
2. Trying out different guitars is critical to identifying which best fits the musicians style of play and how it handles. Another vehicle analogy – if the choice is between a Ram 1500, a Chevrolet Silverado 1500, a
Ford F-150, a GMC Sierra 1500, a Nissan Titan or a Toyota Tundra… a person may rank them based on specs but it would be foolish to buy one without a test drive.
3. Stating someone playing a guitar makes it “used” is ridiculous. It is like saying because someone drove a car onto/off the trailer to deliver it… let alone allowing someone taking a short test drive.. means
the car is not a new car.
We bought an ESP LTD acoustic guitar through LA Music. There were many problems right out of the box. Dead spots on the neck, high action, bad intonation. We have had the guitar under a year and the bridge has pulled up so high that the finished has cracked and there is a noticeable warp in the body. The guitar was stored in my humidity controlled studio with a number of other guitars, all that are in fine working order, except for the ESP. LA Music has stalled and done nothing to rectify this situation.
Terrible experience at La music. These guys were incapable of getting anything right with my order after waiting weeks . Then proceed to be rude and blame the customer.
I will take Long and mcquade customer service over these guys any day.
2. Music City Canada / PA Shop AV / London Guitars / Music City Drums
Purchased a mixer from here. Received it the next day in Windsor. Great, fast service.
Awesome.
Fine store but unreliable when it comes to orders, I had order something that was expected to be there 2 weeks after I bought it from them. expect it didn’t come for almost month and haft after the projected date
High Quality Rentals. Great service every time.
Alright, they know what they’re talking about and have some good prices. However, it was hard to find the place and was surprised that they only had a few items in stock compared to what they sell online.
Terrible experience. I ordered a Tascam DR100 recorder from The PAshop on November 13th. They telephoned me to say that it wasn’t in stock and asked if I wanted to continue with the order. After discussing the expected delivery date at my location (November 30th) I decided to go ahead and I was told that they would contact me with a tracking number. They then charged my credit card. By November 27th I hadn’t received a tracking number and contacted PAShop by email and telephone. Web sales didn’t answer the phone so I left message. No one has replied to any emails or my voicemail. All I wanted was an update on the delivery date! I am now cancelling the order through my credit card company.
This is more or less about London Guitars inside of the P.A. Shop. The dudes are knowledgeable but the selection is very weak and the store is about the size of a shoe box. On multiple occasions I have gone there to order gear or trade and the conversation always ends with “ohh come back and talk to so and so.” The grand time wasters!!!! I highly recommend Bellones or Long and Mcquade for music needs either store has never wasted my time and their staff are great!
I ordered the speaker in May, and then waited for it for more than 4 and a half months and haven’t received it until the refund. Really bad customer service and the shopping experience, will never come here again.
Amazing customer service. I needed quite a bit of equipment for a weekend event. The team went above and beyond to ensure I had everything on my list – they were very helpful with loading my car too, especially on such a busy day. Will definitely be back to the Bloor St. location if I am ever in need of rentals.
Great pro audio!
Friendly, knowledgeable, awesome staff and prices so the best! rental/buying selling place!
Good place
Solid shop. Love the rental prices. 4 stars because I’ve had mixed customer service. Good at times…… Bad other times.
Went to buy a Gibson bass that was said to be in stock, after driving 2 hours I was told sorry that it was taken for an attic sale that was at the same address for the end of the month. I was there to buy this bass and they did not want to be bothered selling it to me. Very poor customer service.
heard a lot of bad things about there business ethics. And also overpriced.. they accounting department say the reason for the inflation of prices is because of “Overhead”.
Never seen staff less interested in customers. After actually flagging down someone and made it clear we were about to spend a decent chunk of change, the service picked up. Awesome for looking without being pestered. Multiple store format was confusing for first time visitors.
5. Steve’s Music Store
Address: 415 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M5V 2A5, Canada , Ode , Ontario , Canada
Online order, AMAZING customer service! Great music store, definitely will be back!
I am biased when it comes to this store it’s like a candy store for me. But all in all, the SR’s have superb customer service skill and are well knowledgeable of the products.
I enjoyed my latest visit there. Helpful staff and clean place. I wish I could afford the guitar I want though. Keep up the awesome customer service all
Small guitar stock not so great customer service.
nice music equipment. .alot of books and studio equipment as well
Want a good technical experience? Go to Steve’s .. the technical crew there are just superb , especially the head. They did (at a quite reasonable price) stuf that even ‘Save by Technology’ -told me noone in Toronto would do!! And they did quite a good job on ALL OF them!!!! In literally a day and a half- Now I’m all set to do MIDI Like I always wanted great job guys!!! : }
nicely, stocked too!!
Drove in all the way from Niagara to check out the store. No details in Google search or signage on the doors stating that it’s pick-up only and no in-store shopping at this time. When we asked about that, we were told it’s “common knowledge” due to COVID. Not really – majority of stores have in-store shopping right now, including Long and McQuade’s.
rude and disrespectful know-it-all staff.
Order policies and customer service are terrible. If it’s not inside the store, staring you in the face, don’t buy it. It’s never coming in. I ordered a guitar over 3 months ago and still have not received it. Get the run around every time. They’ll throw anybody they can under the bus. They have no visibility on order status and are not helpful at all. Infuriating. I Just called complaining and Peter Bruni got mad at me, put me on hold and called me the worst customer ever to his fellow employees. I heard every word. I can’t believe this store is even in business. I spoke to the manager, some other pretentious jerk, and he defended his employee! These people are the worst. The owner must be just as bad or these people would have been fired long ago. I wouldn’t step foot back in that store if they had the last drum stick on the face of the earth.
Great place, good customer service, nice equipment!
Friendly staff
Downtown core location, limited type of instruments / Keyboards, Sound Mixers, DJ Consoles, speakers, headsets, Connection cables, few Ukuleles
It’s open
Good place, street parking is a bit tough but this is recording and pro studio gear only, yuh won’t find instruments here.
Bad service!
I just walked into this location to buy some head phones. After trying a few I noticed the sound was really bad and only coming out of the left channel on all the head phones. I go to find someone that works there and I mention that I believe the cable is broken, they reply like they already knew about the issue. I ask can the cable be replaced, they say yes but its a lot of work. I ask when will it be replaced( I live really close by) the guy says “I Don’t Know” I say “I guess I should buy headphones somewhere else” he does not reply.
I will never buy anything from this company now. Ill just go to Amazon and order them online. I’ll take my $500 dollars and give it to another company because this one does not seem to want to do “hard work”. Give me some tools and I would have replaced the cable in 10 minutes.
Don’t hire lazy people.
Thanks for wasting my time
Ordered a guitar from them. Didn’t go anywhere, no updates, communication, etc. after eight weeks without an update, I phoned them. The guy on the phone had a patronizing and aggressive tone, when it was obvious they had missed or misplaced the order, a simple mistake acknowledgement and ownership would have been nice. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere and got my guitar in a few weeks.
obviously the four men behind the counter had absolutely no idea about customer service. They were so rude. Why? Wont be going there again.
7. All You Need Music
Address: 555 California Ave #3a, Brockville, ON K6V 5Y6, Canada , Ode , Ontario , Canada
The personnel at this store have been wonderful knowledgeable and supportive in instruments and music choices. I highly recommend them for all needs or questions related to music.
Neil Matheson
First class service by the team. Bravo et Merci !!! Je recommende fortement Allyouneedmusic a tous les musiciens(nes)
Now it’s easy to order great products! 🙂
Purchased a drum set a few years back from them Needed some replacement parts for the foot pedal and a snare drum this year. My son loves the drum set and they were quick and efficient in getting us the parts over the Christmas holidays. Great job!
Good selection in store, nicely presented. The online resource is excellent. They will price-match on any advertised price. If they don’t have an item in stock or online, they will get it for you. Nice store, nice people.
Helpful friendly and average prices
Terrible online purchase experience. Bougth a guitar on their web site, not only was there absolutely no indication that the guitar was not in stock and had to be ordered from the manufacturer, but the price turn out to be much higher than advertise on the site. So I ended up waiting 4 weeks to get the guitar AND paying 100$ more than expected.
Went in for a speaker cable for my guitar amp. I was told matter of factly that a 1/4″ guitar cable was all I need. 100% wrong and would cause serious damage to any amp that it was used with. Not a place I would visit if you don’t know what you are doing.
DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!!! I ordered a drumkit and I was emailed back by Assistant Manager Wendy Raymond that ‘the Pacific Drum kit you ordered has been discontinued and replaced. The pricing for the new set they have replaced it with is $1187.49 plus taxes. (over $200.00 more then the kit I ordered)’. Seeing that it had been out of production for over a year at this time, I found it odd that they hadn’t realized this before and taken the kit off their website and pointed this out. I was given a company line MRSP’s and difficulty updating their website, but nothing else.
I offered to pay the $949.99 for the replacement kit. I knew this wouldn’t work, but I wanted to see if they would offer any comparable kits for the money I had paid instead of pushing the upgrade. They had multiple kits listed for $999.99, and I hoped they would offer one and take the $50 hit for the inconvenience. Once again, I was told about MRSP’s and offered nothing except the ‘upgrade’ Having seen a bait and switch before, I cancelled my order and told them I was upset with their customer service and wanted to talk to a supervisor. Wendy Raymond refused to give me her supervisors contact info despite me asking for it four seperate times, then, after my final request, she claimed she was the store manager. She never explained why her emails identified her as an assistant manager while she claimed she was the store manager, nor did she answer or eve address any of my concerns.
I’ve never had less professional customer service, and would recommend anyone to avoid this store!!
My recent purchase with Long and McQuade was extremely pleasant. I purchased (pre-ordered) a newly launched Korg music workstation, the Nautilus. I ordered it online with a help of one of their staff members who was extremely helpful and courteous. They stand behind their price-match guarantee and offer great price for the products. After waiting for almost a month my order arrived and I was super happy to pick it up from the Mississauga store. Their curb-side pick is one of the best organized I saw. Having multiple items on my list on backorder, I was very happy the way Mississauga store kept me informed about the status of my order through text messages and emails. Staff is very pleasant to deal with.
I highly commend the L&M stores for your musical needs. One can never go wrong with L&M. I thank you and your complete staff for being very helpful and supportive throughout.
Excellent and quick service, big variety of instruments, sale and rental available.
Helpful staff and decent selection for a Violin player which is all I can talk about. Was helpful getting something I needed ordered in faster. Thanks!
This place has the vibe
I generally like this store… My only thing is sometimes they show product online as being in store and surprise…it isn’t
I wish they were quicker at fulfilling their online orders.
Even the store pick-up option takes longer than it should (I ordered the day before and still nothing) – and I know for sure that they have it in stock at the store.
Went here to buy a guitar I thought it was just random that they are not accomdating. Went again for the 2nd time, talked to the same people (old guys in the front)and still the same. Find someone else to talk to.
Very bad negotiation
9. Cosmo Music – The Musical Instrument Superstore!
Address: 10 Via Renzo Dr, Richmond Hill, ON L4S 0B6, Canada , Ode , Ontario , Canada
Musical emporium – from instruments to sheet music, from taking lessons to holding musical events: all under the same roof. I’ve yet to see a bigger venue than this – with a whole array of pianos and violins and many other instruments.
It is a cool place even if you are not into instruments. You can literally feel the potential to be an artist and the y have a great selection of all kinds on instruments and musical books.
Very cool store that actually has high end drums on the shelf!
Large , well stocked store with friendly staff
Took my amp in for biasing, they said 7 week wait time. 8 weeks passes no callback to let me know that there is a further delay until I called. Nice people but not to organized. Going to pick up my amp, never again! I’m a pretty patient person but at some point you have to take action.
Terrible service. I tried to pre-order a PRS online, which their site would not allow it so I had to order a different guitar altogether and have the guy over the phone correct it. Waited 4 months and heard nothing, called to get an ETA and their said they would have to call PRS to find out and would email me right back. I received NO email for 3 days, then decided to call back. The person I spoke to then tells me they have it. Living an hour and a half away makes it difficult, due to that error I still have not picked up. Not a good way to deal with people when its easy to order anything over the internet now. Will not purchase anything from them again.
I am here waiting for more then 20 minites. If you don’t have time, why ask me come at 2:00? Terrible service! Don’t respect to their customers.
I placed an online order because they were the only place I could find that had the sheet music I wanted. Shortly after placing my order, I received a phone call from a staff member to confirm my address and let me know when it would go out in the post. I received an email confirmation as well from the store shortly after. When it arrived, the music came with a thank you note that showed that someone had checked that the package met the criteria they use for shipping packages (the items match the order, are in the described condition, etc) and that gave contact information that I could use in case I needed to contact the store.
I’m really pleased with the quality of service, and I’ll definitely order from this particular store in the future whenever they have what I need in stock.
My new home! Great for hobbyists and advanced users
great staff. easy return policy. great selection and service
I recently went to a big box store asking questions about different controllers, mixers, and other various DJ hardware.
The guy I talked to told me to go to Long & Mcquade Musical Instruments in Burlington, Ontario.
He said they’re friendly, willing to help, and very knowledgeable, and would be able to help me more than this big box store ever could.
Not only was he 100% correct, When I called the phone number listed here for Long & Mcquade it was the correct phone number, and I spoke with a very pleasant British guy by the name of Michael.
Long & Mcquade Musical Instruments helped me find the Novation Launchpad I was looking for, as well as helped me with pricing out other products on the phone.
I am 100% satisfied with the great and friendly service and will definitely be going back to Long & Mcquade for all future purchases.
You have a customer for life. Thank you Long & Mcquade!
Awesome spot, great staff. They’re almost a bit too helpful you’ll be asked by staff every 3 minutes if you need assistance.
Great store! Probably one of the best long and McQuade stores
Went to this store twice in a span of a week and must say that they have zero knowledge of dj gear. Their website is inaccurate off what they say they have in stock. You can’t rely on it. Also what they call “new in stock” could actually be a demo model on the floor which they still try to sell at full price. Poor service. Will not come back here
Pawn Shop or Music store. These. people are beyond approached. they behave like pawn shop These people are rude on the phone and in the store they just have no interested in helping or caring . DO Try Trade in your stuff to buy another instrument with these people.. go someone else
New location is indeed much improved, with roomy display and renovated interior, plus some badly needed parking space.
But that is pretty much all good about it, based on my visit in November, 2020.
First, 2 things we tried to get are listed as on stocks on the website for this location but nowhere to be found. Just such a mess with their relocating.
Staff all look like strangers, even they claimed no staff changeover. We shopped at the old Burlington site for years, and know those folks and even befriended some of them, but the guys at the new store all look different.
If they provide the same level of service, we would be fine, but they didn’t. The dedication and attention are not there, and sometimes struggling with the system. They really need bring their old management and staff back!
Very helpful and nice staff. Good variety of musical instruments.
Always excellent service from super knowledgeable staff.
I came here to get some music and instruments for small children. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is very relaxed, there were musicians of all kinds playing various instruments throughout the store.
Great selection of pedals.
Really nice selection of guitars from a variety of brands at all price points
Good service and selection, but you kind of have to go in knowing what you want.
Went to the one in Montreal. I’m from the USA. So I don’t speak French. So the guy at the time with long blonde hair was obnoxious. Enough said. You’re rude I’m out. Good luck with that kindve treatment.
Ordered a DJ deck that I was told was going to come in a week later, it never came in. Instead I was fed excuse after excuse, as well as false promises that it would be in the following week. Customer service was terrible, I will gladly be taking my business elsewhere, as I strongly advise you do the same.
I could not make this up, and I’m a bit bewildered at how this place can stay in business treating customers the way they have treated me.
I contacted them on the phone 2 weeks ago inquiring about the availability of a specific guitar amp I was interested in. I was told they would get back to me in the next couple days. A week goes by and nothing. I emailed the main email for their head office inquiring about why I did not receive the information I was looking for. That was a week ago. This email was ignored as well.
Business must be good. I’ve never stepped in the door of this place and now I never will. So bizarre.
In thinking about it, I really didn’t like the vibe I was getting on the phone with them in my original phone call. It almost felt like I was bothering them. Apparently I was.
12. Remenyi House Of Music
Address: 109 Vanderhoof Ave Suite 15, Toronto, ON M4G 2H7, Canada , Ode , Ontario , Canada
i’ve been a long time customers with Remenyi. Sergei is very friendly and knowledgeable. When there was issue with my purchase, he was trying his best to make it right and resolve it as soon as he can. Great experience with Remenyi.
Excellent quality instruments and wonderful experience overall. Great selection of sheet music. Impressive.
Very large and spacious music store. They sell upright, digital and grand pianos on the main level. They also have other instruments. The lower level has classical books and scores. The employees are really friendly and helpful. Location is good too, it’s also right across the royal Conservatory of music.
Pretty expensive, but has good products.
It ss s variety of music books, instruments and little nic naks related to music
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice collection
I suggest you go to Soundpost or Heinl, not this store.
I experienced the most disrespectful and unpleasant experience ever in this store.
I purchased a violin chinrest here, and it had a problem, and I couldn’t use it. So took my violin with the chinrest to see if they can fix it. This was my first time taking my violin to the store.
The staff at the String Department took a look on the first floor and took my violin up to the second floor. SHE TOOK THE STAIRS UP WHILE HOLDING MY VIOLIN IN HER HANDS. If you own a valuable instrument, you definitely know to put your instrument in the case while taking stairs. After a couple minutes, I walked up, politely said that I hoped to see my violin, and I was not comfortable being separated with it. YES, BECAUSE I WAS SCARE BY THE WAY YOU HELD IT. She then took my violin out with the MOST DANGEROUS WAY I’VE EVER SEEN, HOLDING MY VIOLIN UPRIGHT WITH ONE HAND AT THE BOTTOM, TOUCHING THE VARNISH. This is not a book! It is an expensive precious antique violin!! I was shocked. She then started to educate me as if I’m someone inferior or don’t-know-anything kid. Her tone and attitude was snobby and disrespectful.
Very racist. They underrated my language fluency and said get the 0000 out of here
Very friendly staff and kept the guitar on hold for me. Thank you Arts Music Store.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This has been the smoothest online transaction ever. Got the guitar I wanted on the day I wanted, thanks to Carl.
I popped in there today. Fantastic selection! They didn’t have what I was looking for in stock, but I found it online and they were right, they had the best price for the item out of all the bigbox stores in T.O. and even Musicians friend! Plus free shipping orders over $199!!! Friendly staff but not pushy or aggressive. I really was impressed. Definitely pop back in when I’m in that area.
Very nice ppl very good equipment my son loves it there and he is only 3 yrs old
Great music store in York region! Basically the ONLY one in Aurora/Newmarket however they are very helpful and have everything you need and knowledgeable staff who actually play instruments!
I only ever order from these guys online, but their service is top notch. I’ve never had an issue. They ship promptly and my stuff has always arrived well packaged and on time.
This store used to be great. I would go out of my way to come here for things (it’s an hour away) the staff used to be amazing. Now…. I’ll go elsewhere.
These people dont even make eye contact with you or ask if you need any assistance. You either chase down a worker or you interrupt one of their very deep conversations held at the sales desk to receive any sort of help. I’d love to support this business more cause its closer to me but the staff here just dont seem to care for this business.
For the first time in my 35 years of visiting music stores, this store was the only place to yank a guitar out of my hands that I was going to buy and say, “we just sold this guitar over the phone”. I drove an hour to get that guitar as a Christmas present for my kid. There are too many other quality stores around to waste your time here. The proper process would have been to sell the guitar to me as it was physically already in my hands and order another for someone whom is simply browsing the web. It’s simply a small town store that doesn’t know what they are doing. I will never be back.
14. SOLO Music Gear Ltd.
Address: 20 Staffern Dr Unit 3, Concord, ON L4K 2Z7, Canada , Ode , Ontario , Canada
amazing customer service. Happy to answer any questions, solve some of your problems. Friendly and easy to deal with. Solo carries great products at a great price.
Greatest place on earth (for adults) lol. The staff here are fantastic, and the selection is incredible. Really recommend Solo if you’re interested in building your own guitar, or upgrading your current one. The staff are really helpful.
From your Commonwealth Cousin DownUnder, the Team at SOLO are amazing! Vatche went over and above to help me visualise my ideas, I had to get some T-Shirts to parade in here in Australia, while I sent Vatche some Aussie Emmesaries (Marsupial Icons) by way of tokens of Thanks. One Day, I may well just Rock Up to Toronto and cast an eye over the goodies on display. Thank you, Gents. Long may you reign!
A guitar builder/repair person’s heaven!
Seems they wait 2-3 days after purchase before shipping. 13 days to ship Ont – AB. Decent quality. Solo brand tele template doesn’t match solo brand hardware kit. Need to buy proper bridge separately.
I’ve had good experiences and bad. They do offer gear that you can’t seem to find anywhere else though so there’s that.
All the guys are amazing that I dealt with but the hefty lady is a c u next Tuesday!!
Lockdown ended months ago. We all wear masks and socially distance. This is the only guitar shop that is still closed. Neat, you have curbside pickup, so does every other shop, but those places allow customers to see what their buying before they buy it, Because the government has allowed retail store to open for months now. Unless they open the store to the public, don’t bother with this place. Go to one of the many other guitar shops.
The kits are prefabricated in China they are the middle men. The quality of some kits like mine “alder body stratacaster” was poorly prefabricated. The neckbolt holes on the neck and body were off center and crooked. I was told when I called that was normal for the money I was paying and I could return it if I liked. I felt the effort to listen and genuinely help me was unsatisfactory. I even sent pictures. Look below would you accept them telling you that that’s normal or ok..? Does that look properly aligned to you. ?? I think not.
Buyer beware. Do your homework on DIY kits from Solo. Thanks
15. MusicM Inc.
Address: 7035 Maxwell Rd unit 8, Mississauga, ON L5S 1R5, Canada , Ode , Ontario , Canada
A great place to find a good used piano. They carry a variety of upright pianos, all black color. The prices are good and the warranty work and service is excellent. Other instruments are available as well at affordable prices.
Good source for beginner guitars
Great selection of instruments. Not showy but has everything you need and also knowledgeable.
MusicM is a great place to find low cost student instruments. They are much more affordable than the big national chain.
Really its only a place to buy your first instrument. Don’t expect to go there to find amps, or any accessories like strings, cables etc….
Pianos are very dirty and don’t look refurbished.
DONT BUY FROM HERE!!!
This store is just Chinese counterfeit guitars, pianos and other instruments. They are not even decent quality counterfeits either. I stopped in here for strings as it was the closest store to me on Google. He had one old pack of cheap Chinese strings and told me they were top quality. I took a look at the guitars, and then I realized why this place is in an industrial complex with the instruments hidden in the back room out of view.
Don’t buy this stuff! They will tell you they are refurbished or on consignment and don’t know the origin, so he doesn’t get in trouble. If he knew anything at all about them, he would know they were fake. All of them, not just a couple. It’s obviously a lie. They are terrible quality, and you’re better off buying an inexpensive model from a well-known brand at a reputable store where you’ll get quality products and a warranty. When this place eventually gets shut down, you don’t want to be left with an instrument that no store will work on if anything happens. If youve ever bought a Gibson guitar, Yamaha Piano or whatever else, you were scammed. It is 100% fake, not refurbished or being sold on consignment.
Had a hand-me-down guitar with a broken string, they repaired it quickly for a few dollars. Awesome and friendly guys!
I ordered an item on sale from their online store. It was delivered from Oakville to Montreal right away with very cheap shipping fee. Highly recommended.
Amazing customer service. Very professional. I highly recommend gear music. Thanks again Scott!
Friendly and knowledgable staff. I came in for a bridge reset on an acoustic guitar that took over 2.5 months to complete. The job itself was well done, but there was a lack of communication that was frustrating. At first, I was told it would take about a month to complete. I had to call in four times for an update, and 2.5 months later it was finally done. When I came in to pick it up, the manager was friendly and explained and apologized for the delay. I understand and can appreciate changing timelines, my frustration was that no one reached out to communicate them to me. As a new customer at this shop, I really felt like I was in the dark and at one point even thought that maybe you damaged the guitar but didn’t want to tell me (could happen). If a customer has to call in more than once or twice, you should take a few minutes out of your day to proactively make that next call and update them on the situation. Other than this, a job well done.
不错,比较多
Pros:
-Were able to get 2 of my guitars in for set ups/intonation adjustments last minute and had them done same day.
-The intonation is a TON better now
-The new strings recommended to me play beautifully
-Large selection of instruments and equipment
-knowledgeable staff
-Good Location, conveniently located.
Cons:
-Staff both times entering the store seemed less than delighted I walked in and initially seemed unpleasant. The first gentlemen I dealt with ended up being a little warmer as we conversed a bit. The second gentleman I dealt with, when I went pick up my guitars; had a “hurry up and pay then leave” kind of demeanor. Maybe I’m just being picky but with a boutique shop and my first time in there I was hoping for really good service.
-My guitars came back with light scratches/marks on the body. My strat being a lot older I didn’t think anything of it. But my SG is a natural finish guitar and I’ve played it all of 3 times (it’s practically brand new). The marks look like they may have been from restringing the guitar and letting the strings rub around on the body or something.. There is also a spot just below the bridge pickups where it looks like something oily was set on it. I’m a little sad about it and there’s not much that can be done now, just feel like maybe the best care for my instruments wasn’t exercised in the process.
I’ve got another 6 guitars I’d like to have routine maintenance done on. Not sure i’ll bring them here now unfortunately. 🙁
Large selection, prices match all Canadian retailers.
A pleasure to do business with Fleet Sound and working with Collin. Fleet Sound is an excellent Canadian company, looking forward to the many years ahead!
Slow service but nice guy
Fun place. Not as many blow-your-mind iconic guitars but enough inventory to keep you looking. Lots of audio hardware & a solid drum & piano section. Nice staff.
Good local music store. Lots of selection and usually helpful service.
*** SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND GO TO LONG & MCQUADE ***
As you can see in the photos I attached, I inquired twice about return shipping in their customer service online chat as well as in email. You can see that Tim was so confident in his answers. I even asked about the actual amount I would be getting back cause something didn’t ad up. But after trusting their words I shipped the amp to return it. I then get a call informing me AFTER I ship the amplifier that I do have to pay return shipping and that they will compensate for their illiteracy. I got $15 back when shipping was $65.37. I have tried giving them the chance in another email to correct this disappointing experience. They didn’t. I got a voice message saying the $15 was final.
You would think someone who is a store manager would know how their return shipping works.
Seriously go somewhere else where companies actually own up to their mistakes. This place won’t take the hit and expect the customer to. This place treats you like they are doing you a favour.
Go to another Music Store where they are trying to survive in this hard time and will have better customer service and are aware of how their return polices work.
Can’t wait until this place closes for good so they can’t lie to customers any longer.
Nice place but they dont do returns which is the only downside.
Bought a case for the sound system. The handles are breaking down going up and down steps once? My Yamaha case doesn’t ! I expect handles to stand up to normal use.

Was looking for a Jackson Bass guitar, it was not in stock but could be ordered, so we got one on order. It came in within the expected 2 weeks but was unfortunately damaged during shipping so it was sent back immediately for replacement. Replacement showed up in perfect condition. I had requested to have black beauty strings installed, the string installation fee was waived for my troubles. Excellent service and will definitely be back.
Good service and amazing price for guitars definitely shopping there again
Great shop. Features Godin canadian crafted guitars.
Purchased a PRS A40E online from Axe N Gear but after a short time I realized that the PRS A40E I received wasn’t cleaned, prepped or setup, basically just put in the case and shipped. The fretboard was filthy, strings were bad and the action was so high it was unplayable. I cleaned & conditioned the fretboard, replaced the strings and sanded down the saddle to get the action at a nice height without buzz. The new issue is it won’t stay in tune. I had this guitar for about 6 weeks, it’s only been played a couple of times and was so frustrated I asked for a refund. Darryl at Axe N Gear refused to help. I can only give them one star only for quick delivery. I can’t recommend Axe N Gear. Very disappointing experience.
Wow, just read Axe N Gear’s response.
I am not a liar or a scammer, pretty harsh accusations. Not a very nice way to talk about customers that have a complaint. I didn’t lie about the condition of the guitar. I didn’t modify the guitar. I spent time doing the job Axe N Gear should have done before shipping the guitar. The guitar needed a lot of work done to it. The truth is Axe N Gear didn’t send me a guitar in good condition, the cost is the same other guitar stores are selling it for so no big savings and when I expressed my frustration and asked for a refund they said no. I’m not trying scam anyone, I spent close to $1000 with tax of my hard earned money and didn’t receive a quality guitar & didn’t receive customer service. I’m just letting potential buyers know my experience, how Axe N Gear treated me, that’s what reviews are for.

The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. Has a huge selection of guitars at a variety of prices. Also has a fair selection of other stringed instruments and drums as well as accessories. Does repairs and service.
By far the best full service music shop in town
Enzo was great. I purchased a banjo and they made sure it was tuned up before i left. I’ll definitely be a returning customer.
We were on tour and our drummer broke his highhat stand, these guys managed to fix it in 15 minutes on a Monday morning AND they didn’t even charge us for it. So we bought some cables to say thanks. 🙂 Great, speedy service
Amazing place to come find out what instruments you family members or friends are interested in
Lots of variety
Great customer service and they cover all your music needs. Great selection.
I had guitar strings on my classical guitar for 20 plus years as I’m an infrequent player.
Recently I had a string break on me.
I went to music world academy to replace the broken string and was told I had to buy a set of six because they didn’t have an individual string. So I bought the 6 pack and thought I’d give them some business by getting them to restring the guitar.
About 7 weeks later a string broke. I’d say I had less than 30 minutes of playing time on the guitar.
Upon returning the guitar to replace the broken string, I was told they couldn’t replace the single string I broke and had to buy another whole set of strings or buy one that was not compatible to my guitar as one would have to tie a knot at the end to make it work.
I asked if they could open up the 6 pack and sell the strings individually and was told no.
I seriously thought they would replace the broken string with the same one at no charge as the broken string had less than 30 minutes play time on it.
I can’t believe a business would jeopardize their reputation over a 2 dollar string but they did.
I told him to forget it, this is bizarre, I packed up my broken guitar and got the hell out of there.
I will never walk into that place again and encourage others to do the same.

There isn’t a time I’ve come out of A&R Music without learning several useful tidbits of musical information. Great shopping experience, sweet products.
I always enjoy my visits. I come away feeling appreciated. WELL DONE.
Excellent service. And extremely knowledgeable.
Nice guy, basic stock and repairs
Friendly staff. Not wheelchair accessible. Has a funny “old” smell, but most stores in Walkerton are very old buildings. Lots of books, instruments, accessories packed into a modest sized area. Knowledgeable staff.
