I would only buy high end from a place that values the merchandise and what buyers want. The high end guitars are pristine and not fondled by tons of people and greasy french fry fingers.
La gets it, in speaking with them there is a deep respect and appreciation for good customers, and for those customers who recognize this and know what they want, they will give LA the business. Simple.

Purchased a Fender Champ from here, had free shipping and it arrived within a week to the west coast. Excellent service, answering all my questions through email. Love the amp! No hesitations ordering again from Sam at LA Music.

If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve been trying to get a hold of someone at this store for well over 2 months regarding a guitar I want to order that is advertised on their website. I managed to finally get a hold of someone a few weeks back who said that the guitar I want should be in stock in 2 weeks. It’s been over a month now and nobody has returned my calls or the multiple messages I left on their answering machine. I’ve also tried sending emails and using the chat function on their sight. Still no luck. I get that this probably not someone’s full time job but if you’re actually interested in selling guitars, pick up your phone. We don’t all live near Mississauga where we can just pop in.

The story is legit and my only agenda is calling out bad service.

I’m leaving this review in place for now because trying to discredit someone for choosing not use their real name online is something that, as you said is a “mean spirited” thing to do.

I’m revising my stars to 4 because the person I talked to was really helpful and even went out of their way to find some answers for me with a supplier while I was on the phone. That is exceptional service and it is greatly appreciated.

Made the 45 min drive to LA music for the first time recently. In one word, “meh.”

Pros:
-There is a great selection of guitars.
-There are lots of staff on hand, some are helpful.

Cons:
-Some staff are less than helpful mixed with a pinch of arrogant.
-Accessories are really disorganized.

It is my opinion that this is likely an old school commission run place – if it isn’t, it sure has the feeling of being one. Some of the staff are condescending, some seem hungry for a sale but it didn’t feel like a happy place to shop or work at.

The guitar inventory is mind blowing and well organized, but everything else guitar related seems to be randomly scattered around the store. There is a lot there, but finding it will require some help and perhaps some time, that is if the staff member isn’t the one that simply brushes you off like you are some kind of ignorant rube.

I might go back to LA Music the next time I’m in Mississauga / Port Credit but I sure won’t make a special trip.

I got what I was after, was well packed and once it was shipped it arrived in 3 days. Problem is, I prefer dealing with staff that honors their word. Initially service seemed great and I thought I found a new place to buy new gear from but now I’m hesitant and will likely try somewhere else. The only local music store’s head office (LA Music’s competition) kind of irked me and lost a pretty good long time loyal customer. This was my first attempt finding a replacement for ‘Canada’s largest music store’ chain.

Husband was excited to visit as it had been awhile. Store is giving up half its space as more web sales now. No problem. Husband went in to look at the higher end guitars but wasn’t allowed even close to them to say which he’d like to have a closer look. He came out pissed off and ended up buying a guitar across the street. My husband is in his 40’s and professionally dressed. Ridiculous!

It’s unfortunate that I have to write this review, but after the extremely poor customer service I receive today, this is absolutely necessary. This moring I reached out to the shop to inquire about a guitar I had my heart set on and found they have it on their website, so I requested that they confirm if they had that particular guitar in stock. I was spoken to in the most disrespectful tone, as if I were a bother to him for wanting to make a purchase. I then followed up with the individual in question later that day, only to be spoken to in yet again in an extremely condescending and unprofessional manner; if that employee is having a bad day, I can empathize with that, but leave your personal problems at home and don’t drag them into work with you, only to redirect his poor demeanor on customers. Suffice to say speaking to any potential customers with such a condescending tone isn’t within what most would call good business practice; you don’t proverbially spit in the face of a client, unless their aim is to push clientele to their competition, which has surely happen here. Furthermore, this was a total shock, as I had bought a high end model from them years earlier, when they were still located off Dundas and Winston Churchill, I received fantastic customer service, so it’s disheartening to see what happened today. At the end of the day no business can hope to survive, especially in this economy with deplorable customer service such as theirs.

In case the owner is wondering who might be directly responsible for this poor review, I implore you to speak to whomever it was working on 12/29/2020 in the morning hours of 11am to about 2pm.

Terrible experience at La music. These guys were incapable of getting anything right with my order after waiting weeks . Then proceed to be rude and blame the customer.

I will take Long and mcquade customer service over these guys any day.

I did allot of research for the right acoustic guitar (Takamine GD51CE-NAT), I ended up buying from we despite being in BC. Matt was honest, told me the days it would take to get from factory as well as said he would personally make sure the transition to send it out to me was done promptly and correct. It actually took no time and came in two layers of boxes and lots of cushioning. Plays great and I was nervous buying online and what a great customer service experience!

The guys at London Guitar, which is located inside and upstairs at the PA Shop, are awesome! Boris and Bunjee are very knowledgeable and have an awesome selection of new, used and vintage guitars and amps!

Never responded to my email when I asked them to price match and beat the difference by 30% on a product (as they advertise on their site) if it is sold in Canada by another official authorized retailer for cheaper. Chat function on the site doesn’t work either. Ended up buying the item from another shop. If you don’t want to price match, don’t advertise it on your site since you won’t respond to emails and your live chat function doesn’t even work

I ordered the speaker in May, and then waited for it for more than 4 and a half months and haven’t received it until the refund. Really bad customer service and the shopping experience, will never come here again.

This is more or less about London Guitars inside of the P.A. Shop. The dudes are knowledgeable but the selection is very weak and the store is about the size of a shoe box. On multiple occasions I have gone there to order gear or trade and the conversation always ends with “ohh come back and talk to so and so.” The grand time wasters!!!! I highly recommend Bellones or Long and Mcquade for music needs either store has never wasted my time and their staff are great!

A very well stocked store for musical equipment and accessories. I was able to purchase the item I wanted from a large selection at a very reasonable price. The store has a large selection of acoustic guitars available. The proprietor is very amiable, ready to provide individual service if required.

Cosmo is truly a hidden gem, as from the outside you would never be able to tell that once you go through the front door, you’re met with a decor that takes you to another world. Cosmo features each department like their own little store, connected to the atrium that looks like a fantasyesque cobble stone walkway.

I purchased my epiphone electric guitar from Cosmo after many insightful input from their sales team, that explained which brand and model will best suit my usage. They have many brands and model to choose from and all of them are accessible to try to really get a feel for what you want and am comfortable with.

10/10 would go back if I ever need anything.

What a fantastic company. I have only ordered once, to get some small percussion items and things for my kids during the COVID19. We are in Quebec, but I tried out this company because of limited local selection and web based ordering. Personally I was blown away with their relatively fast shipping and the thoughtful extras that shipped in the package, like a Cosmo toque! Will definitely place some new orders when the kids can move onto some more advanced instruments. Good job Cosmo Music!

Staff aren’t always that nice, you can find better prices online or at other stores such as ‘long and mquade’, and their lesson department is a rip off…they barely pay their teachers. Very saddening. However, if you look past these things it’s a very nice store with TONS of great gear. Not to mention the awesome stage area upstairs.

Staff are always friendly and willing to help. Although they are very expensive. Facility is always clean.

I just love Cosmo.

Just a few weeks ago spent close to 5000$ online and never got anything. Close to a month later, customer support is non existant, and I can see by many reviews, I’m not the only one here with this situation. Order and stock problems seem rampant, so after a few weeks I said that’s enough, if you don’t want me and friends business, we’ll go somewhere else. After trying multiple times to get information on my order seemed I was just ghosted like many others… It’s sad because we talk so much about purchasing locally, but the service I get from stores in the USA and Europe such as Sweetwater, Anderton’s and Thomann is light years ahead. I mean, no one ever contacted me for anything, I had to do all the running around and still waiting for my refund. This is nuts, and I can’t even begin to understand this strategy; if any.

Had to take apart their $200 “repair” cuz improper part used.
Bought the proper part at Solo Guitars.

A store that’s been around for many years. Worth taking a look around in just to see the vintage instrument collection displayed throughout the store. Some very cool and unique items to look at, and a good selection of mostly string instruments.

Hey what’s the deal with the weird dog at the back of the store who kept asking me if I was going to “Use the violin the way it was designed”? 4 stars because even though my artistic method is different I still ended up with a great new set of drumsticks. anyways I’m an adult baby, don’t trust your cat!

Always helpfull

I went to see about drum sets in February 2017 and found the store was closed until March 7th 2017. When I returned around 12:30 pm on March 7th, the lights were on but the door was locked. I then tried calling to see if the store was to re-open and got no answer on any of my attempts. I suspect that the 2 good reviews were made by employees or the owner

Went to the store and stood there for 10 mins. Nobody was behind the counter. Nobody came to ask if I needed help. Saw an older man in the back as I was leaving. He didn’t seem to care that I was there. Was likely going to purchase from there but I will spend my money elsewhere.

Not impressed. Over a month i’ve been trying to get into my local and only music store. Only to find out that they have either closed earlier than posted online or the employee/owner is at a fire call emergency. I understand that volunteer firefighters are an essiential and needed but you must get another employee so you can stay open past 3pm.

Koas Music is a Down-to-Earth music store with amazing employees who just want to get you what you need, not just sell you something. I’ve been going there for years! Highly recommended!

These guys sold a Gibson Les Paul Supreme with the wrong check list. When confronted about the situation, staff admit to their incompetence, saying “we don’t check things like that.” They also couldn’t return a message, or find it within themselves to correct their error. I would not trust these folks concerning high end, valuable, or collectible goods.

I was very excited to take a look at this store as it is close to where I work . I stopped by on the way home and was promptly ignored by the two people working there. Apparently staring like mindless zombies at the TV was more important than acknowledging my existence. After 10 minutes of browsing, I realized their attention was never going to deviate from the TV and they were never going to ask if I needed help so I just left. Great job Kaos, you’ve lost a customer for life.

I purchased a fairly expensive guitar amplifier from this store. The customer service I received throughout the process was excellent and communication was prompt both pre-buy and post-buy/return. When I received the amp I noticed that the some of the original tubes had been removed and replaced with cheaper ones. Also, someone had tried to screw the back wood panel into the wrong place causing extra screw holes. This amplifier comes with a nice foot switch to turn the vibrato on and off – they did not send me the original foot switch – they sent me a cheap piece of crap Roland switch worth about $5. And finally the vibrato function of the amp did not work properly.

I don’t usually write reviews about anything but in this case I had to because it cost me $150 to ship the defective “not as advertised” amp back to them and all I got from them was a “sorry you didn’t like it”. It’s not that I didn’t like it – it wasn’t what I paid for.

So, great customer service before I bought, quick shipping, item received was not as described (defective actually) and a large cost to return it. Quick refund on their end as well.

Great prices for very high end instruments !

This store is an iconic spot of Toronto and is a must visit for anyone with a love of art or music.
I’ve visited so many times to simply see the beautiful guitars and instruments that are being sold here. And any time a musician friend of mine goes by I tag along to see the new inventory.

The staff is always great and there are nice vibes the moment you enter.

Highly recommended spot.

I purchased a Squier bass there in May. It was a fail for reasons which were not obvious. They replaced it quickly and effortlessly, but then I upgraded to a proper Fender. What more do you need?

Seems prices here are better as we regularly shop at various music stores. They also have a good collection, ad post music specialty stores do.

Garbage repair department. They took my money but didn’t fix my guitar. Didn’t fix the neck and ripped me off on the setup on top of that… useless. I wish I could leave 0 rating.

Used to go to Steve’s music in person and didn’t have any issues. Decided to place an order online for the first time ever and the box came damaged, so it had to get sent back to the store. When I went to pick up the item from Steve’s their was a group of male employees all standing around the front and they proceeded to give me the WORST attitude, even though I was only asking questions about something I already purchased. The staff was very disorganized and rude, finally when the manager came he took the time to look at my phone/order and assist me. Never felt so under appreciated and undervalued as a customer. Unfortunately I will not make any purchases from Steve’s ever again.

They wasted my time as well as condescend me.
Worst experience ever.
Not good at sales as well as customer service.
They made us wait for 20 mins while the manager was on the phone while waiting for assistance.

Update: Just wanted to update my review to say that once again I am impressed with the service received. Scott was amazing, super communicative and before I knew it I had my new Gibson delivered to my door step, same day. These guys truly go above and beyond even in the craziest of times. Thank you again!

I was taking up the violin and went in for strings. Despite it not being their specialty they went out of their way to get my violin playable!

I really like going there for all my music related needs, they have a good selection and the staff is always knowledgeable and friendly.

Pros:
-Were able to get 2 of my guitars in for set ups/intonation adjustments last minute and had them done same day.
-The intonation is a TON better now
-The new strings recommended to me play beautifully
-Large selection of instruments and equipment
-knowledgeable staff
-Good Location, conveniently located.

Cons:
-Staff both times entering the store seemed less than delighted I walked in and initially seemed unpleasant. The first gentlemen I dealt with ended up being a little warmer as we conversed a bit. The second gentleman I dealt with, when I went pick up my guitars; had a “hurry up and pay then leave” kind of demeanor. Maybe I’m just being picky but with a boutique shop and my first time in there I was hoping for really good service.
-My guitars came back with light scratches/marks on the body. My strat being a lot older I didn’t think anything of it. But my SG is a natural finish guitar and I’ve played it all of 3 times (it’s practically brand new). The marks look like they may have been from restringing the guitar and letting the strings rub around on the body or something.. There is also a spot just below the bridge pickups where it looks like something oily was set on it. I’m a little sad about it and there’s not much that can be done now, just feel like maybe the best care for my instruments wasn’t exercised in the process.

I’ve got another 6 guitars I’d like to have routine maintenance done on. Not sure i’ll bring them here now unfortunately. 🙁

Helpful friendly and average prices

Purchased a drum set a few years back from them Needed some replacement parts for the foot pedal and a snare drum this year. My son loves the drum set and they were quick and efficient in getting us the parts over the Christmas holidays. Great job!

Went in for a speaker cable for my guitar amp. I was told matter of factly that a 1/4″ guitar cable was all I need. 100% wrong and would cause serious damage to any amp that it was used with. Not a place I would visit if you don’t know what you are doing.

Terrible online purchase experience. Bougth a guitar on their web site, not only was there absolutely no indication that the guitar was not in stock and had to be ordered from the manufacturer, but the price turn out to be much higher than advertise on the site. So I ended up waiting 4 weeks to get the guitar AND paying 100$ more than expected.

DO NOT BUY ONLINE! I wish I had read reviews before placing an order. All the horror stories are true. Item you order is not in stock, similar items out of stock, offering “upgrades” without any discount for inconvenience. Currently stuck waiting an indeterminate amount of time for my item. Terrible practices and customers are treated as disposable. If you don’t like it, they offer to cancel your order and carry on like nothing happened. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

The gentlemen who met me at the door, who I assume ran the place, was very accommodating and polite. If you are looking for a inexpensive, no name brand guitar, than this is the store for you.

This store is just Chinese counterfeit guitars, pianos and other instruments. They are not even decent quality counterfeits either. I stopped in here for strings as it was the closest store to me on Google. He had one old pack of cheap Chinese strings and told me they were top quality. I took a look at the guitars, and then I realized why this place is in an industrial complex with the instruments hidden in the back room out of view.
Don’t buy this stuff! They will tell you they are refurbished or on consignment and don’t know the origin, so he doesn’t get in trouble. If he knew anything at all about them, he would know they were fake. All of them, not just a couple. It’s obviously a lie. They are terrible quality, and you’re better off buying an inexpensive model from a well-known brand at a reputable store where you’ll get quality products and a warranty. When this place eventually gets shut down, you don’t want to be left with an instrument that no store will work on if anything happens. If youve ever bought a Gibson guitar, Yamaha Piano or whatever else, you were scammed. It is 100% fake, not refurbished or being sold on consignment.

Pianos are very dirty and don’t look refurbished.

Dropped by and got a string replacement a couple of days ago. Done and out in like 5 minutes, a very quick wait with amazing customer service. Jim’s as friendly as usual, just always making your visit as welcoming as possible.

From the moment my kids and I stepped into The Guitar World we felt right at home (which was great considering none of us had ever picked up a guitar!) The staff and teachers are passionate, skilled and knowledgeable about all things music. My son and daughter both purchased their guitars from The Guitar World and regularly take both guitar and drum lessons at this location. Couldn’t be happier with the atmosphere and standard of service. Two enthusiastic thumbs up 🙂

Stopped in quick to get a review of a guitar I just bought. All the guys were helpful and attentive to me as soon as I walked in. Also helped with information about classes and other guitars in the shop. Seems like a good place

The staff is very friendly here. There aren’t a lot of selections here in terms of acoustic guitars, don’t expect them to have a huge collection of brands – mostly tanglewood and a couple other brands that I haven’t heard of. I think this store offers great equipment for beginners and intermediate players, otherwise I would suggest L&M or LA Music for more variety. However, they do maintenance and repairs as well … which I would assume their skills to be first-class. If I lived around the area, I’d probably go to them.

If there is zero I would choose it. I am just beginner, went there because I bought poorly repaired guitar and they literally start making fun on me and blame. It was really disappointing and unexpected behavior but thanks for letting me that I bought unfixed guitar

When walking into the shop, we were greeted by a super friendly employee who we spoke with for a little while about gear. In terms of customer service, no complaints whatsoever. Polite, professional, and friendly. With that being said, the selection of instruments was dreadful. There just wasn’t much variety in anything there. I would consider bringing in guitars for repair here (the tech seems super knowledgeable), but couldn’t see myself stopping by in hopes of purchasing a new guitar.

It was all good when ever I went in for guitars but God help you if you were interested in ordering something from them. I tried a couple times to order some mouth harps, but they never got me anything! I gave up on ordering anything from there, I just don’t bother, not that it matters that much to me or anything like that, just wanted to let everyone know about my experience.

A great guitar store. Excellent Gretsch guitar selection. Very knowledgeable staff that is friendly and can answer any of your questions.

Great shop run by an honest and very skilled tech. Did a great job widening my nut slots for heavy gauge strings and did a total pro job on the setup. Turnaround was lightning fast and the price could not be beat. Any time I need work done to my guitars they are going straight to Phil.

The owner is very polite and honest. The service is great and well knowledged at what he does.

I hate to leave a bad review for a local business, but the neck of my brand new guitar was damaged when taking it here for service. For context I’ve been here twice before to have guitars set up and each time have been happy with the work. I recently got a Fender Strat, and took it in for a setup and to have the fret edges rolled as they were sharp. Phil told me the edges were fine but I insisted as I wasn’t comfortable playing with them.

He called a week later as promised, and I didn’t feel like the edges were rolled at all but he insisted he did the work so I paid and left. When I got home I noticed that the fretboard and neck finish was chipped off in places along both sides of the guitar, and was a bit upset that this wasn’t even mentioned to me when I picked the guitar up. I called back and Phil advised that “it happens” due to the way the fretboard and neck is bonded, and there was nothing that could be done about it. Photo attached of some of the damage, and you can also clearly see the fret edges are not rolled.

I’ll now have to pay more to take the guitar somewhere else to fix the damage caused by taking it here, and to have someone actually roll the fret edges which I already paid to be done here.

I didn’t like the place that much. They didn’t have what I was looking for

THEY DAMAGED MY EQUIPMENT. Had my vintage fender twin serviced there a while back. charged me $500.00 to fix a reverb tank and replace the tubes, which i assumed was normal. Then i got the amp back with a long rip in the cloth material and it was missing one of the rubber feet. Obviously lacking the level of care i expected from a local shop. Wish they offered to repair the damaged they did.

Really helpful staff both in person and on the phone, took their time and explained different options. Definitely coming back.

Troves of musical instruments and related contraptions in 3 adjacent buildings, and amazingly friendly personnel.

I have been DJing for the past 15 years, and like so many it all started with friends in basements and in the bedroom practicing. About 9 or 10 years ago, I needed equipment that my neighbourhood Radio Shack and local garage sales and Hawk Shops – simply couldn’t provide. I asked around, and I made my way to Long and McQuade. I’ve had a wonderful experience with them, the staff is always helpful and professional. Any questions I have ever asked, got answered immediately or at worst I was promised a “call back” and I always received them. With the exception of a few minor hiccups in communications and customer service, I have had nothing but a POSITIVE experience with the entire Long and McQuade team! Their goods are great! The Support, Excellent! and the Service – simply beyond compare (Sorry StevEn’s and CosmOpolitan, ya’ll don’t compare). Special Shout out to Joe and Mr. Falk in the Bloor St. Service Centre….. PHENOMENAL work boys!!

As a music student from a small town, stores like these are very rare. Great, knowledgeable staff who know what they’re talking about. Selection of instruments and supplies are great, having beginner, intermediate and advanced tier items. I would definitely go here if I was regularly in Toronto. This place is a treat for an “outsider” like me and should be taken advantage of by any musician

They lost my rental!

I came from out of town to rent a sousaphone for a 3-day festival. I know sousaphones are not a common rental instrument, so I emailed months in advance, and called 3 times to confirm that they would have it for me.

I arrive in Toronto and come to pick up the horn and its not there! I was counting on L&M and they let me down.

As Silvia says, as I am in full agreement with……”The staff are alright, but at times you can’t be sure if they are mocking or if they are being genuine. I also don’t care for the fact that the used and brand new products are practically the same price. Why would anyone buy used if the brand new one is usually about a $20 difference!?!? We bought a guitar and was told you had to wait two weeks for a set up ? We went elsewhere, for an extra cost, for a one day set-up. OMG this is no way to treat a customer. A staff member named Graham was condescending, totally unhelpful about inquiries and seemed uninterested all together. The used guitar was unplayable on purchase, because it was obviously NOT maintained. Also, my son got scammed out of a proper Gibson case. Shameful business practices. There are other choices in Toronto where the staff build relationships, and have an imagination beyond one sale. So disappointing. For some reason, Bloor St has lost its way. Many people have complained about the attitude of the staff and nothing seems to have been done about it.

I bought a new Godin Multiac KOA at the Tundra Music Jones Ave store this past Friday (Jun, 17). Matt was really helpful and provided a great service. Gave me a great (unbeatable anywhere) price on a left-handed American Standard Stratocaster. Mason was really helpful on the phone and the guitar shipped in perfect condition (as it was well packed) with the week to Montreal. Would buy a guitar from them again in a flash.

The boys at Tundra made me be not so sweet when I really wanted to be sweet, but it’s okay because sometimes you have to like it like that. Once the neck issue was determined “tremendously un-fixable” and the chargeback was approved, I finally got my money put onto my credit card from my bank. The service wasn’t incredible and the guitar was broken but I think the vibe is heading in a direction that I’m curious about. I’ll definitely be back. I’d like to wear more leather than denim next time I’m in, because I think they like it like that. Thanks boys!

Update – More than a month now. They won’t refund my money or deliver the guitar. The most unprofessional bunch of people ever. Unfortunately, I’m reporting them now to get this resolved.

STAY AWAY! READ ALL THE REVIEWS BEFORE PLACING AN ORDER. Good first conversation. They’re well informed but very poorly stocked. I placed an online order with them believing they had a particular guitar in stock. It’s been eight days now, they haven’t received the guitar, let alone them physically shipping it out. I would have much appreciated a truer timeline and clarity regarding my order. Not a great experience with my $800 floating nowhere now :/ and being persuaded to buy another guitar that they promote.

Ordered a guitar in September 2020 and still have not received anything and it’s now March 2021. Most messaging goes unanswered. Their Facebook had a bunch of complaints and they’ve not only been removed but they’ve disabled comments. I’m almost convinced that they’re not a legitimate business.

These people don’t know how to run a business.

Best music store I’ve visited in years – my new favourite. The customer service was exceptional, and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy with our purchase when an issue did occur. Great atmosphere, love that everything was accessible for visitors to try!

Understand what you’re buying, and from who, and you will be fine purchasing something from Lauzon.

Not an ideal shop for new guitar players because of the in-store return policy. While I do believe they need to do a better job of informing people about this before the sale, it’s a buyer beware world. Just know and ask about it before you buy.

The idea that Lauzon is more expensive in comparison to other shops is ridiculous. Compare the same models with other shops and you’ll see their pices are basically the same.

Nice store. Familial business. Parking available. I know they sale guitar because I’ve seen some in the back and they also have keyboard. But I was there looking for an upright piano. I had a wonderful experience and discussion with this young gentlemen name Ken. 😀 Very knowledgeable regarding the piano manufacturing in Canada and passionate about the piano he represents. I was impressed with the Seiler’s piano. I had previous bad experience with lower end Seiler. I came to the store because the website mentions that they represent Knabe piano. Unfortunately there was no upright on the floor. They were low on stock and are waiting for new arrivals somewhere late Fall. Covid repercussions I guess. What they had on the floor was a bit out of my budget. No because it didn’t worth it but I don’t have the talent to get the full potential out of it. There was no entry line model or maybe it was just the fact that they were out of stock.

Great selection of high end gear, especially for Ottawa, but you’ll pay for it. Hard to negotiate with. It’s clear the calibre of people shopping at this store have more money than they know what to do with and these guys know it!

Extremely disappointed with Mr. Lauzon. Beware he is double faced and unloyal! Lauzon sold us a 1920’s Heintzman upright grand piano in mint condition for $10,000. Later when I asked for repair on a very small broken part this is what he said to me: “your piano is worth nothing…it is too old …if we try to repair one thing three other things break…it is no good anymore…tell you what, we’ll pick it up for free and and get rid of it for you…then we’ll throw it in the dumpster…no you can’t bring the action in to our shop for repair…you should get a new piano…I have one for sale for $$$$ … “. By the way the piano was soon after repaired for $220 at another piano shop.

I’d rate them higher, but I called to scheduled 2 guitar set ups, was told waiting list was 2 months in September. Not a problem, I’ll wait. 2 months pass, I called again, was another 3 week wait. Well, it’s been over 5 months since I called. Let’s just say I won’t be doing business here if this is how they treat their customers.

I have worked with these guys for what feels like forever and every experience has been above and beyond. Their service is incredible, their equipment top notch and prices suoer reasonable! I would suggest them without hesitation!

For an event at Chatham on Apr 29 2023 , the event organizers booked a set of stages and gave a credit card info and it was not delivered. Very very disappointing. The show went on without a stage.

The location is a little tricky to find as it’s through an alley and down a staircase, but It’s a great atmosphere for a well named music shop.

Came from out of town, to possibly trade in and purchase another guitar from them, well, they didn’t even ask to see the guitar but were quick to go on reverb and then slash 70% off my trade! I appreciate the transparency but it would of been nice to have given me the time of day, by at least looking at my guitar. The reason for not getting one star is because of the collection of guitars.

Fix your operating hours on Google. Wasted my time today

About a year ago I brought in a Vox Starstream guitar for set up.
I had bought almost new and the action wasn’t terrible, but as a brand new learning student that knew nothing, I brought it to you to be set up for easiest action possible, explained that to the person I spoke to and they assured me I would be well looked after.
A week later I picked up my guitar, from another person, cost me over $90, and when I got home I excitedly tried it out. The action was awful, pretty much unplayable but as a real beginner I thought I must be wrong. Was quite discouraged from learning for quite a while but ended up buying 2 more guitars, one with fantastic easy action already, the other I had set up somewhere else that is good but I understand how it could be better, especially in voicing.
I took out the Vox today and looked at it again – the action is up around 5mm at the 15th fret. This was an awful set up.
So I am guessing that someone started it, didn’t finish.
Have tried to contact them several times, hoping they would rectify the situation, but no response and here we are.

Bought 2 ukes and they are all tuned up and ready to go. Great Service!

Need to seriously work on their customer service. We waited over 20 min at their lessons desk with multiple staff walking past us and not one came over to ask if we needed help. Finally flagged someone down to ask about my daughters lesson only to be told to ‘just wait here and her instructor will get her’. 5 min into a 30 min lesson….no instructor. Finally someone at the desk who says ‘oh she needs to go upstairs’. Ridiculous. Maybe have some work the lessons desk on a day when you have lessons running!!

Bill is not a friendly guy. He will scream at you over the phone.

Currently sitting in the acoustic guitar section. Have asked multiple people for help, but they’ve been too busy. One guy promised he’d be back after helping another customer, but half an hour later still no sign. Also, came in to look at a few specific guitars, but they don’t seem to have them in stock, despite what the website said. Wouldn’t know for sure though since I can’t ask anyone. Been here for an hour and a half, and enjoyed the environment, but am leaving extremely disappointed and frustrated.

Long n McQuade is a very nice place and the school is awesome, unfortunately this place was disappointing. Apparently I signed up for piano lessons for my son and when we showed up we found out that we were not signed up we drove all the way from Mississauga and the lady at the front desk said we have to start next week because they didn’t take my credit card information when they called to confirm. It is not like that at the Mississauga location, much better customer service.
