Every teacher there is super nice and they provide you with their books. Teachers at Dauk Music are so nice so you should start lessons there if you are looking into getting piano lessons.
Fun! Helpful! I Learned Notes, And The Left Hand Was Pretty Easy Learning.

I really enjoyed going through their records and I found what I was looking for. I felt like I was a kid checking out my favorite artists and bands. They have records in every genre. I will be going there again for sure.
It is a great place, and cheap. I’ll be goin back soon.
So many excellent band-shirts and vinyl and movies and patches!!!! Love frequenting this shop!
I usually get my games buffed over here, the place is big and if you want wall to wall entertainement. Well be my guest.
The prices of the records in the Bargain Bin somehow got raised to $7.99 per. RIP OFF. Those records are selling for $1 anywhere else. Not coming back here
Extremely stupid, arrogant people !
Arrived at 5:00pm to find the store closed. The posted sign said 6pm is when it closes. The clerk inside was rude when asked why the sign says 6:00pm. I will no longer shop here. As this is not the first time it has happened.
3. Long & McQuade Musical Instruments
Address: 9219 28 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6N 1N1, Canada , Mill Woods Town Centre , Alberta , Canada
My son and I have bought a lot gear from these guys. Their return policy and performance warranty takes the worry out of a purchase. We have found some really good deals for used gear there too, whereas some kijiji finds have ended up terribly for us, as not all private sellers are trustworthy.
I’m so glad they gave us great advice
Gave my guitars for set up and repair couple of times. Everything was very well done and communication was excellent. Service was fast as well.
Sales staff is decent, but when I got a free setup for the guitar I purchased they really only changed the strings and failed to resolve the buzzing in the D string. I probably won’t return to their guitar tech. I’ve heard Acoustic Music is good for adjustments.
Great place to rent instruments from. Very knowledgeable staff.
Very friendly and helpful. Tuned my instrument for free. I didn’t even buy it from them. Thank you
Went in to buy a Roland FP90x, stand, three pedal setup, and a bench – about $4500 worth of gear. Stood by the piano for about five minutes five employees proceeded to pretend I was invisible.. Instead of taking a piano home tonight I’ll be ordering one from Piano Center which will take a few weeks to arrive.
Nice location, good parking area. Went to buy an electric violin for a 13 yrs boy. We enter the violin area, 2 sales person behind the counter, non of them acknowledged our presence. I asked from faraway if we can get help. Non of the sales person helped and the one that communicate with us was unpleasant, and said that they don’t carry electronic violin in stock.
My boyfriend and I went here today and none of the staff even made eye contact, or said hello. There were atleast five employees present and not even one asked if we needed help. We looked around in the acoustic guitar room for atleast half an hour thinking someone would check in on us. Nobody did. After this we looked at the rest of the store and still no attention was paid to us in any of the departments. Really sucks because we were initially really excited to shop here and now it looks like we will be going somewhere else.
4. Mill Woods Town Centre
Address: 2331 66 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6K 4B5, Canada , Mill Woods Town Centre , Alberta , Canada
An Excellent ONE Stop Shopping Centre – With Plenty Of Parking Spots !!!
Pretty clean and well lit yet I had a few issues with the mall even if I exclude the pathetic food I had at it’s food court!
• No help screen to guide where to locate a specific store or the food court for anyone visiting for the first time
• Bathrooms were not that clean. I might be wrong judging this one as it can be due to the people using them not having etiquettes because the stall was pretty good, just the sink area had a lot of stuff thrown around!
•Not many good eating places!! I experimented with some place called Madurai and the Dosa tasted like it had sand in it, chutney and sambar were water and the paneer masala sabji gave me a stomach ache!! (I am actually writing this review sitting in the waiting lounge of my doctor’s clinic)
Overall, I’ll try to avoid this mall for my own safety sake!!
A good place to spend time
Lots to say about this one
Not a lot of variety of stores…
The mall is falling apart with never ending leaking glass ceilings and roof which are no doubt collecting a nice variety of thriving mold and the lowest bidders to do the trade work in the building by the looks of it, I’ll travel the extra 20 to 30 minutes when I want to go shopping for variety. , I’m wondering why during covid there was no relief for a lot of the smaller shops either. It makes me sad to see how much the building has dwindled since moving away 6 years ago and reworking this year. Even the Canadian Tire there is poorly managed…
I love this area but building owners and managers need to realize cheaping out and cutting corners cost much more in the long run. And it shows.
Hoping for a better future for the place.
It needs one
The mall durning the week has posted hours until 9 pm. After work I pick up my father from the west end to take him to the mall at millwoods for chinese food. We get there at 7:30 pm and half the food court is closing. Wasnt very impress with the mall, why post hours until 9 pm if half of it closes before 7pm.
5. The Source
Address: 2331 66 St NW UNIT 507, Edmonton, AB T6K 4B4, Canada , Mill Woods Town Centre , Alberta , Canada
Staff was very helpful and Chetan helped in getting best plan, highly recommended .
I had a wonderful experience at the Source store recently. The store itself is great, and customer service was amazing, particularly from Mayuri. She went above and beyond to help me find the best deals for my phone plan. Mayuri’s extensive knowledge about the products I inquired about was truly impressive, and her assistance was invaluable. I highly recommend visiting this store, and be sure to ask for Mayuri for top-notch service!”
The Source is a decent place. They used to sell more hardware stuff like screws as well as more wires and other related computer components. Though now they just sell devices and some power bars or Ethernet cords on the side. That’d be my only complaint if it was one, if I need that stuff I’ll go to memory express or order online.
Found what I wanted and even a new idea
We walked into the store specifically for an item that was on sale online. The was a staff member at the front of the store who did not make eye contact but did glance up from her phone and saw us enter. She did not greet us or make any attempt to welcome us or ask if we needed anything.
We were promptly greeted by another staff member who showed us the items we were looking for, but the sale tag wasn’t there. We had to chuck the prices online in order to get the price listed there.
We were happy with the second staff member who gave us no grief at all over the different price and made the experience enjoyable. He also went ahead and checked the prices of similar items to check for sale prices.
Had to wait for the cashier to get off the phone to pay for my purchase.
If I can give 0 star I would do it for sure. Worst customer service ever. Had to visit store for return and served by person name Parth. No customer service was provided fully non professional person busy in phone while talking to us. Didnt provided the service I des erved. Not knowledgeable staff. Never visit again.
Literally the worst service ever,
They need some training in respect to customer service, and how to competently do their job!
DO NOT SHOP HERE!
This review is for staff member named Kunal!! I have visited thrice a times at millwoods location and everytime he attended me.. and this is the third time that i got disappointed with his behaviour!! I dont know why he is always in attitude and has no manners how to greet a customer with a polite way!! I must recommend the source to have a mystery shopping on him and result is gonna be same for them!! This is not any personal revenge or matter.. just decided to give the honest review after getting fed up!!

The staff are great, and they have almost anything that you would ask for when it comes to making music. Prices are competitive as well. I wouldn’t shop anywhere else.
Helpful and knowledgeable! Great service from everyone at the store for my sound equipment rental!
We tend to visit Long and McQuade anytime we are in Edmonton. The staff are great, most are very knowledgeable and helpful. The drum and guitar scetions tend to have a great selection with knowledgable staff but the bass guitar section always seems to leave me a little disappointed.
Fantastic knowledgeable staff
Friendly, knowledgeable staff, good selection reasonable prices!
Brutal. I was going to spend some money there but I was so turned off by the service I walked down the street to the other music store. Next time I will buy online.
Brought a guitar here for a setup because it had some sting buzz and they just move the buzz farther down the neck. Just paid 120 for someone to put new strings on. The staff out were nice though
They treated my family like they were a disease. They felt like trash leaving thise store today. I went there before and the staff was friendly so oviously this person who was on should be analyzed by management on how to treat staff. I’m so disgusted by this!
9. Acoustic Music Shop
Address: 9934 82 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 1Y9, Canada , Mill Woods Town Centre , Alberta , Canada
First time customer! Just had the fret ends shaved, leveled and the action lowered on my Breedlove 12 string, all done within the time frame quoted and at a very reasonable price. I won’t hesitate to bring my other acoustics here for future maintenance. Of course I had to check out the store while I was there. Great selection of acoustics. I highly recommend this store. Thanks to the luthier tech and the staff.
Friendly, helpful, and just an overall great place.
Great store. Good selection. Knowledgeable staff. Bought a tuner for less than what they charge on Amazon. Worth checking out.
A good guitar store. also has lessons in music.
Cool shop with a nice selection of both new and unique vintage instruments. A real eye opener was the huge selection of hardware (bridges, tuning keys, etc) and electronic parts (pots, caps, jacks, switches, etc).
I walked out with a cool old Matsumoku Raven SG clone for a friend that’s going to be a restification project.
We go there for our daughter music lesson. Everyone has been really nice to deal with
Purchased an item from this shop on Reverb. Item was not what I needed (my own fault) and tried to initiate a return as per the policy listed on their Reverb page. No one ever responded to my message so now I am stuck with it. Be wary of purchasing from this shop especially if you are ordering online.
Dismissive, abrupt, and not very helpful. They wouldn’t fix my instrument because they deemed it “beyond repair”. I took to somewhere else and my instrument is running better than ever.
Very rude on the phone owner, and a filthy parking area, are not encouraging to use this business.
10. VapeInn Cigar & Smokes

Very helpful And patient by trying to help me find the right e cig! Neat little store
Best place to go for goodies
Very nice lady works there!
Staff is very polite, knowledgable, and extremely helpful…LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! This shop!!
Great experience great shop! The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and knew his stuff. However I was shorted 1 atomizer in my Nord 2 RPM atomizer pack. Was suppose to be 5pc pack, only had 4. Looks like one pc was snipped off. I’m assuming its because they offer a single unit purchase to customers. Not a big deal, just make sure to open and count before you leave the store. Either way, good deals and nice shop!
Nice people – bit overpriced . better stock needed.
Every other store does a discount except here. Kids vaping in the store. Real trash vibes
Do u guys have mesh x1 coils for geek vapes?
they are nice in there but they are over priced, i went in to buy a nord. i previously got the same one in fort sask for 38.00 w/out tax and they charged 49.00 w/out tax.
11. Long & McQuade Musical Instruments
Address: 6633 118 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5B 0P1, Canada , Mill Woods Town Centre , Alberta , Canada
Dropped off a guitar for servicing, quickly helped, explained what would be done well.
Super friendly staff. Amazing inventory. Awesome place, I’m so going back.
They have anything you need for your músical adventures.
I’d give them a five star review but it seems like they raise their prices every month.
Massive music store, decent selection. The bass guitar section was a little lacking. Large pedal area, and some well done guitar displays
Everything you need. Awesome ser
L&M is a great franchise. This store in particular…not so much. Despite being near my house I recommend everyone to seek a different location. Their customer service is so bad , they’re not welcoming at all. I remember being kicked out for testing out a Nord Piano 4 by some dude with white long hair and a goatee for absolutely no reason…seriously no…reason! Other locations just don’t DO THAT! One time I’ve ordered a Nord Stage 3 and gave 2000$ Deposit upfront and they started questioning me ♂️come on I’m a longtime frequent customer just give me my damn board that I’ve ordered that arrived in store. They also don’t even know any information when it comes to gears seriously nobody can’t provide information to a specific product?! I ask myself a times why do they work for L&M ♂️Best Locations: Anywhere else except this one.
Probably the biggest selection available but next to no aftermarket parts and the website is one of the worst I have come across for navigation and finding what your looking for. Though they have a massive selection of Guitars non of them we’re setup with anything under 400$ needing their fret ends filled down they should be ready to go so I can pick it up a day walk out the door. Company needs an overhaul.
This location is terrible, at least I got a hello at the Mayfield location.
Went in on Wednesday the 23rd with in the first hour or so of the store opening. The store was not busy, but the 6 or so staff just stayed around the counter, avoiding my brother and I the entire time we were in the store.. when I finally found the amp I came in the store for, I had to wave someone down and ask if I could buy it.. I came to this location after a positive experience buying my son a used guitar from the Mayfield location, but found out I should have just bought the amp off Amazon instead.
If I had already drove there, and planned my day off around this stop I would have left empty handed.
I was going to buy additional accessories, a couple patches cords, a couple straps, and some picks.. the essentials for a new guitar player, but Amazon got that additional purchase because once buddy showed up with the amp, he hid away at the counter and didn’t even let us know he had returned(I was looking at the ernie ball cords at this time) but he did have the audacity to ask if I needed anything else, as I was paying. No thanks.
I was considering music lessons for my son here, but after this experience, I could only imagine the poor quality of attention that would be given.
Bottom line I won’t ever set foot in this location again, and the sales staff could seriously learn something about customer service.

Very helpful. Answer questions. Nice friendly atmosphere.
Great service
Awesome people
Great acoustic music shop. The owners are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I am happy to leave them with an instrument and ask them to do what they think is best.
Knowledge of these guys was a real help when picking out a new violin for my oldest daughter. After going here no need to go anywhere else
Superb music shop loved my visit
Knowledgeable and friendly staff
Put a guitar on hold here assuring them I was going to buy it in a week, even offered to put money down but they said no need, they would call if anyone else was interested in it. When I came back it was sold and I received no phone call. Not a very good first experience.
Have been familiar Myhres Music since The 60s nothing but good things to say about this family business and their knowledge of the instrument they sell will always support them
Well I could not get in under my own account so my wives name is up.
I have been going to this store for about 10 years and have recommended it many times for the reason others have stated.
So the one star comes from my past two trips to the store. About 6 months ago i was into Edmonton from 3+ hours north. I was shopping for a older guitar so naturally I went there since I have purchased from them before. There was different staff and during this experience I was left with wanting to go elsewhere to find an instrument.
Fast forward to the 10th and I planned another trip to the store. Yet again I left again no impressed. I brought two guitars, one of which was purchased there in 2017. One was newer and the price given left me wanting a second opinion. The second was about 20 percent higher on the trade value. That left a bad taste . Secondly was a much higher price Acoustic from the early 70s. Even in the “poor” condition I was informed it was in, it was still appraised at over five thousand and was informed with a little work it would be worth much more. I was in the market or another fine instrument so I played some there and went back to the hotel and thought about it. SO going back with the information and being told I should expect 80 percent of the appraisal on trade in I went back. After deciding what I liked he reran the numbers and now the number was down below sixty percent of the appraised value. Surprised I asked why the difference? I was Informed they need to make money! Slightly annoyed I packed up my guitar, voiced my opinion to the young salesman, said have a good day to the older gentleman that I purchased my other guitar from and left.
I doubt I will ever return as during my search I have discovered numerous smaller music shops in the area.
As the saying goes: Trust is hard to gain and easy to loose. Just my story.
My response to below.
Some of what you said is accurate. I was informed in the future that if I had work done, (700 to 1000), that the guitar would require a neck reset and bridge done. When shown how to check with a piece of paper, the paper did not go under the bridge. The neck is the same as when I bought it at your store in 2017. At that time there was zero mention of the neck or guitar for that manner needing work. Secondly I was given a trade in value of 3200 and some. It was under 3400, cannot remember exactly. Quick math was over a grand. Along with your other quotes on the second guitar and its value, I was left feeling like I was being taken advantage of.
Even with this experience I would still recommend others to go Myher’s music. As stated above. However I will also names of other small shops which I did not before.
13. Lillo’s School of Modern Music Ltd
Address: 10852 82 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 2B3, Canada , Mill Woods Town Centre , Alberta , Canada
Wonderful place with very wonderful and amazing people.
Corrine was wonderful! Thank you for helping me rediscover my love for music
Excellent service
Jeff has been paving the way for me to play the beat for more than a year now. The man’s brain must be composed of drum-music tabs.
Very dissatisfied with my multuple experiences here.
I bring in my accordion which is in need of repair. The biggest issue was that notes would be played without pressing any keys, and a few keys would stick open, meaning they would be played after releasing them. Several reeds also needed replacing. I explicitly tell Mrs. Lilo this, and ask for a quote. She says maximum $200-$300. After the repairs, the bill is $485, which is not even close to the specified range. Whatever. I bring it home, and less than a week later, the exact same keys stick open, and reeds are still being played when no keys are being pressed. Several reeds still sound awful, even after she informed me that “most reeds were replaced”. I can not even fathom what they did to it to cost $485. I can’t take it back because they close for an extended period in the summer (right after I picked it up). Life moves forward, it goes on the backburner, and the accordion still sits in awful condition.
The first time I went into Lilo’s, I had a conversation with Vic Lilo. And he writes down EVERYTHING I tell him. My name and instrument I play, which is innocent enough. I give him details about the instruments, which he writes down, which is no big deal. He asks where I go to school (high school at the time), and writes that down. It’s getting weird, but I decide to see how far he takes it. He then asks where I work, so I tell him the name, the type of venue, and the street it is located on. He writes every god damn bit of information down that comes out of my mouth. After leaving, I tell this experience to a music friend, and he says the exact same thing happened when him and a colleague went. They ended up staying and browsing, and Vic directly followed them around the store everywhere they went.
The third time I was there, I asked Mrs. Lilo some questions about the vintage guitars they have behind glass. She was either uninformed, lazy, or didn’t value my time enough to answer them. I asked for specific details on the Gretsch Country Gentleman they had, and she gave me surface information that I included in my question. This happened twice more, so I finally lost patience and just asked “how much are you selling it for?” because they don’t have prices. She then replied “a lot”. I said “four or five figures?” She said “probably that, yeah”. I’ve never met an owner of a store who cared so little about talking to potential customers, and I’m willing to bet there aren’t many worse than this.
The absolute last time I went into the store, a guy wouldn’t let me try out an acoustic. He asked “are you here to buy or here to play?” I replied with “I’ve been browsing several stores now and am in the market for one”. He said “if you aren’t buying you shouldn’t play”. Go to any other store such as Avenue Guitars or Long and McQuade, and see if they treat you the same.
These experiences have all been spaced out over the last 3 years. I have tried to have an open mind whenever I return, but it always results in a poor experience. I am absolutely astounded that some people have positive experiences here, because they don’t seem to make the slightest effort.
They also sell Fender knockoffs and unlicensed products because “it’s cheaper than the real thing” as indicated by Mrs. Lilo herself.
Paid 21.99 for D’addario silk and steel acoustic guitar strings and later realized the exact same strings are only 13.50 at Long and McQuaid. I would definitely be sure to at the very least check prices elsewhere before buying anything here. I definitely would have been better off just going to the Long and McQuaid two doors over.
Bought 2 acoustics, I was told they were new, they were both refinished and I could see the lighter color finish around the pickguard, really disappointed, this is shameful business practice.
14. Long & McQuade Musical Instruments
Address: 13651 149 St, Edmonton, AB T5L 2T3, Canada , Mill Woods Town Centre , Alberta , Canada
Resourceful and knowledgeable staff, lots of inventory
I took my family to have my husband pick out a new guitar for his 40th birthday. We had our 3 and 5 year old daughters with us. Immediately everyone was drawn to them and where trying to make them comfortable. They brought down a pink guitar for them to strum. Cracked a few jokes. Put on the fog machine and so much more. It amd a potentially painful shopping with crazy kids experience into a fun outing for them.
When it was time to talk budget for the gift I provided what I believe was a flexible price range. Instead of weighing on the high end our sales rep (im sorry I don’t remember his name) recommended a moderately priced guitar he belived in. My husband liked it but tried a few others. He ended up choosing the original recommendation and he couldn’t be happier. It’s a wonderful addition to the collection
It’s be a long time since I have had such good customer service anywhere. I work in the hospitality industry and have for many years. I can truly say that my experience was the definition of hospitality
Was looking for an inexpensive but solid bass amp head to use at my practice space with the band. I dealt with Matthew and Jonathan who were both great. Ended up getting a used Traynor 500 watt small block (Made in Canada) which has worked out great! Great store! Quite busy but I guess shows how much people like it.
Great products. I always find what I need here.
First time visiting ! Great professional service and answered all my questions quickly. Will be back !
Ibe never had a problem here. Except i purchased a headset and a midi controller. And went to trade them for packages that werent open. But. All the packages were open. Now idk why a store would need to open all their product. And they sidnt have a reason either. If it wasnt for the awful presentation i wouldve gave 5 stars. But as a business with quaLity products. This is unacceptable
One of the worst experiences ever, dealt with one of the laziest employees ever. If you want to go to a Long & McQuade head to the downtown location it may be a smaller store but they know what customer service is.
My roommate and I visited tonight. When my roommate requested information from their staff, they looked directly at him and walked away. 2 staff at the front counter could be heard talking about their weekend plans and not providing assistance.
i called to inquire about guitar effects.the guy put me on hold for about 5 mins and hang up.
i cant imagine what they are in person…would give a zero for customer service
