Extremely rude over phone didnt even make it past introductions… ask what kinds of lessons they offered and got a “we do musical instruments, why?” Horrible customer service. I never write reviews ever but that experience should not happen.

Claudio did a much-needed overhaul of my Pan American curvy a couple of years ago. The quality of materials he used was primo (black roo pads and stainless steel resos), and the workmanship was second to none. Although I don’t play soprano much, whenever I do play my curvy, I am always thrilled at how amazing this little horn plays now.
Claudio is an wonderful tech. If I lived on the Island, he would do all my saxophone work. He is an incredible tech, who does meticulous work.
High end repair, reasonable priced5
Serious superb and very reasonable services from a dedicated musician.

I just bought a lovely, beautifully made kanjira drum from Robin at Sylvan Temple Drums, and I am so happy about it! The drum sounds, looks and feels wonderful, and the price was reasonable for a handmade instrument. Robin has been so helpful and quick to reply, ship and follow up. I fell in love with these drums after hearing two musical friends in Vancouver play Sylvan Temple drums(a kanjira and a bodhran). They had nothing but the highest praise for these drums, and I can add my kudos!
Skinned my drum perfectly
The doumbek and the kanjira I purchased from Sylvan Temple are highest quality, hand-made drums. The smooth and precise tuning mechanism on both instruments is a bonus. These are keeper instruments. Gorgeous wood working and each instrument unique. At prices comparable to mediocre factory-made items, why would I buy anywhere other than Sylvan Temple?

Unbelievable craftsmanship. Rufus was able to repair some very significant damage on my priceless to me ‘78 Larrivee that happened during a move. Not only does it look as good as new, but it plays and sounds so much better than it ever did (which is saying a lot for this guitar) Absolutely amazing!
Thank you Rufus!
Absolutely amazing! So much experience and so many amazing stories. Does incredible work. Highly recommended ❤❤❤
Amazing work and customer service! Definitely recommend!
I visited the Academy today, I was interested in a ukulele, and some lessons. The owners helped me. The service was excellent!
I ended up buying a month of lessons, and a basic ukelele. They are going to change the strings to “lefty” for me, which I very much appreciated.
Overall great service!
I enjoy the art classes every Wednesday. I have learned a lot from Michael.
Very personable. Els card making and scrapbooking is beautiful. One of a kind . She
does beautiful work.
What a privilege it has been to be under the tutelage of such an exceptionally talented Dutch master artist for the past 5 years. The classes are small, intimate and fun. Thank you Michael!
Els is a very creative, talented, knowlegeable teacher of arts and crafts. Come and join her classes. You will not be disappointed!
I have been taking painting classes for 4 months and am very pleased with the progress I’m making learning landscapes. This is an oil painting class and you work at your own pace, it has been very worthwhile.
September is a wonderful teacher who is very kind and giving to her students. She has a mountain of experience and really works with her students to find their best capabilities. She has trained with many of the greats and has taught in many capacities throughout her career. She is also great with beginners as well as other levels of abilities.
My daughter Elisha started her flute lesson with Dr. September Payne when she was nine years old and had been a student of hers for eight years until she moved back to Canada. It had been an enjoyable, exciting and rewarding experience. September was an incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, motivated and passionate musician and teacher. She was loving, caring and always keen to her students’ needs. Elisha was able to make great progress while enjoying music and learning. Under September’s instruction, Elisha had performed well as a competitive soloist in many competitions at different levels, starting from winning San Diego Flute Guild in her fourth grade, to finishing First Place Alternate three times at different California State Finals. She was also selected as a member of the High School Honor Performance Series and played at Sydney Opera House in her sophomore year in high school. Even though September moved away, she remains one of Elisha’s favorite teachers. Elisha, now a freshman at Duke, still keeps a close relationship with September. She loves her flute, her music and her flute teacher.
I have had the pleasure of team teaching with Dr. September Payne. She is knowledgeable, perceptive, and an inspiration to those that work and study with her. Her students play beautifully, musically and sensitively which is a testament to her ability to work with young people in a way that encourages and inspires. No matter your level, Dr. Payne, can help you achieve your goals. If you are a parent looking for a mentor for your child, someone who can instill good study habits in addition to a cultural experience, then this is your person! If you are an adult, you will find in Dr. Payne, an intellectual “equal” and friend. Her experience as a human being and a life lived as a musician is her greatest strength.

Great place to rent musical instruments in the Comox Valley. Excellent customer service & support.
Ok
Website said my item was in stock here, but after driving from Qualicum, I arrived to find it was not. They just basically said the website is not always updated properly. I guess in the electronic age, you still have to call ahead with L&M.
Went with my daughter to buy her a guitar. The employee in the acoustic guitar section was sitting in there playing and chatting with someone (didn’t seem like a customer based on the conversation) and didn’t once look in our direction even though he was facing the entrance. Picked up a guitar for my daughter to try but it was out of tune so I tried to tune it by ear but couldn’t hear because of the employee loudly playing guitar. There was nowhere to sit because he, his friend, and her purse were taking up all of the seats. Had to go to the checkout to find an employee to help me. Spent at least 15 minutes looking at different guitars and the guitar guy never looked at us or acknowledged our presence. We ended up buying a guitar with the help of another employee but it was a very unpleasant experience. If you’re looking for help choosing a guitar I recommend going somewhere else.
