A friend of mine is a musician, and I end up touring L&M every time he’s in town.
Awesome place, staff has great knowledge, and I know nothing about music, so I learn something every visit.
Billy R. is a champ! He was a great customer when I worked there, and he’s a great employee now that I’m a customer. He always goes the extra mile for service. Great crew all around, but I wanted to highlight Billy.
Amazing huge store with beautiful guitars! I get most of my stuff for my Strat from this location; strings, parts, straps, tools and the amazing Fender Mustang Micro. Delivery is quick and easy. Staff is very friendly and helpful. 5 stars for sure! Thanks guys!
I was there for my fiance. They have a wide selection of instruments
I was very happy with the assistance that I received. My kids and I came into the store to look at a guitar. Tim was super friendly and answered my dumb questions without making me feel dumb. I appreciate that. I have more purchases to make and if I receive the same treatment I have no problem returning. The others that stated their issues, I had none of those problems.
Staff very helpful
Sales staff are never interested in helping. Went in to buy a Yorkville case for my Les Paul, after 30 minutes of walking around, looking at a few possibly used cases, and unable to find new cases, I walked out. Never did a staff member ask if I needed help or even acknowledge I was in the store.
My son, who has been saving for quite some time, purchased a new guitar. As this guitar was a special order item, we were notified when it arrived at the store and ready for pickup. Upon inspection of the guitar at the store, there was significant damage to the body and finish. The employee immediately spoke with the manager; the manager admitted that the guitar was dropped and damaged by an employee when it arrived at the store. Rather than contacting me and explaining what they did to the guitar, the manager tried to offer my son a discount of $250–on a $2,100 instrument! Thankfully my 14 year-old son was not alone in the store, as they were ready to let him leave with the damaged guitar. In conclusion, a new guitar has been ordered to replace what they damaged . . .
Where’d all your staff go? I’ve been a long time customer of L&M here in the city and the last few times I’ve been in have been rather unsatisfactory. I spent roughly an hour in the store and to my surprise not a single staff member said a word to me, that is until the store was about to close, at which point I was rushed through the whole process of finding a product.
I used to love coming into this store and chatting with all the staff, but lately it feels like no one is here to properly help a customer.
All that being said, there’s still a great selection of products available in the store, and I love looking at everything you have available, but when you have great selection it’s appreciated when staff help a customer decide a fitting product based on their needs.
Thanks, I hope this store will return to the way I used to know and love.
3. Martensville Building & Home
Address: 601 Centennial Dr S, Martensville, SK S0K 2T0, Canada , Martensville , Saskatchewan , Canada
Good service and cheaper than most other home stores.
Had what we needed and the yard workers were polite and quick! Nice to have that kind of service.
Great selection of hardware. Dont underestimate this place, definitely worth the visit for projects. Staff was friendly and very helpful
Great competitive pricing on lumber with awesome staff both knowledgeable and eager to help.
Doesn’t have everything but it has a lot of your day to day stuff. Also Dutch food, which is awesome.
A bit overpriced, but convenience is key here if you live in Martensville. Don’t every try to return something unused in the original packaging. They’ll question you and inspect it till they realise you don’t own a shrink wrap machine. That took about 5 minutes the time I went in.
I usually drive to the city to buy my supplies, but today i didnt, i went to Martensville building and home supplies. Now i remember why i usually drive to the city to buy supplies.
THE place in Saskatoon for musical instrument repair, period. Kevin and Arlene do great work and have been my go to shop for years.
Wow this place is awesome, I wish there was a ten star option…You go dad!
The owner/operator is a well known musician and instrument repair expert in Saskatchewan, based in Saskatoon. Past interactions and repairs have been high quality, and reasonably priced. We are confident his future work will be to the same high standard. Thank you.
Good food
5. Dan Julien Music
Address: 1850 Main St #316, Saskatoon, SK S7H 5T2, Canada , Martensville , Saskatchewan , Canada
Dan Julien is talented and professional in equal measure! His smooth Sinatra voice and charismatic presence always draws a crowd and sets the tone for an amazing event! Dan will have you humming the classics as his song sets are sure to reunite you with some old favourites.
Loved this mans performance at my wedding! He performed our first dance song and did such a great job! Very professional, with a melodic voice, would absolutely recommend!
I was invited by a friend to one of Daniel’s concerts. He’s very talented and has a fun stage presence!
6. Long & McQuade Musical Instruments
Address: 617 8 St E, Saskatoon, SK S7H 0R1, Canada , Martensville , Saskatchewan , Canada
The staff here are eager to help you find what you need. This store is also super fun to just pop in and play with some instruments. I’m pretty sure the staff is used to people playing with their equipment and not buying anything. It’s totally fine to just window shop here.
Having bought a violin off a website, I was having problems understanding how to function with it. I busted a string and realized that i needed help. The girl showed me how to tighten the strings without breaking them and replaced the string. No questions, no guilt, and she replaced the string free of charge when I mentioned that I did not have money
The treatment was respectful and professional. I left with the best feeling imaginable, that someone had heard me, understood my problem and was there to fix it when I could not.
Staff was enthusiastic to help and very knowledgeable.
Good people good service keep up the good work.l&m helps me find what I’m looking for.
Great customer service. My only issue is a lot of “marked as new” guitars look like used models. Purchased a new guitar but had a few dings and buzzing but still sold as new. Takes away the unboxing experience and not cool for an expensive instrument.
I found the music score my daughter wanted here!$9.87
I am very sad to write this review as this is my favorite store!
INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR BY an Employee

Nico in rentals is the guy why i come here as he lives and breathes customer experience, extremely honest and willing to go above and beyond for every customer hr helps, nowadays there are very few like him who are passionate in helping clients.
However, today, August 25th at 2:20 PM, I went to pick up few things from this store.
Nico was on lunch, so a different guy helped me, from the get go, this guy was not at all interested in serving, he was extremely rude, I was not treated fairly by that person, he literally yelled at me for NO REASON
He really interrupted while I was speaking and was again extremely rude.
If you are going to this store, ensure to deal with Nico, I left the store disappointing and not happy as a customer.
Guys like MIKE are responsible for declining this beautiful stores reputation.
So stay away from this guy name MIKE when you go to this beautiful store who has great staff except MIKE.
Used to be my favourite business to support in Saskatoon until today. How is it that every other potential customer in the store is approached and offered assistance with the lone exception being myself
I tell you, as an indigenous person it’s awful being ignored. It’s downright demeaning and dehumanizing.
Lost my business for good.
The people who work here for the most part are nice guys but the guitar quality is brutal. I bought a 1500$ guitar and the neck was twisted. Brought it back and the replacement neck twisted as well.
Sold the guitar, went and bought a limited edition epiphone for 1500$ and the neck was cracked.
I can’t trust guitars from this location anymore I don’t know how they let them go out the door like this.
So after trying for a year to find a new guitar for my collection they’ve sold me 5k(ish) in broken gear.
The staff seems nice for the most part and the accessories are ok but I can’t buy another guitar from here without being afraid it’s broken in some way.
7. Royal Harp Instruments
Address: 803a 7 Ave N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2V5, Canada , Martensville , Saskatchewan , Canada
Awesome and unique store front. Awesome repair service on instruments.
Took my jazz bass to Royal Harp for a little bit of tlc. The guys at Royal Harp are class acts and they do great work.
Todd is the man! He just recently did a full re-fret job and headstock repair for me and the craftsmanship is A+. The Job came in at the quoted price, turn around was relatively quick for the workload, and I couldn’t be happier. Definitely the go-to for luthier work in Saskatoon!
Can’t duplicate Todd that’s for sure. Heavier set fellow with the red ponytail and Trews shirt didn’t do the greatest job on my instrument, so my recommendation is definitely ask for Todd. Think is name was Gordon? Anyway, Todd really knows his stuff!
Steven and Brett helped me out alot. I’m a totally clueless newbie and they were both great. Thank you!!
Great staff and selection. Got to jam out for a bit with one of the employees.
Friendly and kind staff… very knowledgeable!
Wow i Havent been there for years
I have loved coming here since I was in high school. The staff has always been very helpful and kind and their stock is always of the highest quality. When I came in one day, the staff was playing some kind of old European bardic music. It really made my day to hear something so different! Come in to pick up your concert band music supplies or a new guitar.
Good choice of instruments and accessories and helpful, knowledgeable staff
Employee stole from me do not go there
Selection was limited, cashier was intense with questions
Ed did a great job fixing my electric guitar. He got it done on one afternoon and when I got it back the action was better than when I got it brand new.
It’s sad his shop closed I wanted to take him up on the offer to buy the business now who do I know,, if only it had been in a better spot, I have been by there and each time I see Ozzy trying to sell me a guitar pick
Ed is a great guy, unsurpassed in his knowledge of instrument repair.
Great customer service!!
Had a local luthier do some work on my violin, including fitting a new bridge, which I thought to be unsatisfactory. Ed fitted another new bridge, did it same day, did a very good job and for a quarter of the price. Unfortunately, I think he is cheating himself if he continues to charge such low pricess. Seems to be a fine, honest gentleman.
Sketchy area, but very good shop! Knowledgeable and quality repairs….
Ed is a very good and caring person, but I’m afraid he just doesn’t know what he’s doing, at least with guitars anyway. I took the guitar to get the neck adjusted. Fairly simple procedure, just adjust the truss rod. However, I had to take it back to him 3 times and he would just attribute the problem to something else each and every time. In the end, I can see that he didn’t even adjust the truss rod because the neck is still warped.
Bottom line: be careful
Took my electric bass to him to get it straightened out, called me three days later to take a look at it, the neck was still warped and now convex and the action on the strings really low. I left it with him for another week to straighten the neck and when I came back it was still slightly warped and convex. When I took it home and got it tuned it was impossible to play without extreme buzzing on every note (open strings also buzz). He’s a nice man and he didn’t charge me anything, but I would definitely not recommend, considering the neck is in a worse condition than before I gave it to him.
Looks worse than a pawn shop, very dirty and unorganized
Extremely friendly people with amazing guitars to boot
Working with Dingwall guitars in this last year has been an absolute pleasure. Theresa has been working diligently in the office to make sure the staff is taken care of. I have seen firsthand how she puts her heart on the line to make sure things run smoothly. Sheldon Dingwall is a hurricane of work and desire. He may be hard to get to sit down, but that is only because he is busy ensuring that the quality of his beautiful guitars are at their best. You are sure to enjoy your experience in any way you work with Dingwall guitars.
I have two kids learning piano with Amy for 4 years. She’s a wonderful piano teacher with passion, humor and so much patience, especially for the little kids. Both kids love to have piano lessons because the lessons are always full of fun. Thank you and hope you all the bests in the future. 🙂
Out of all the piano teachers I’ve had, Amy will always stand out to me as the most exceptional. She perfectly balances being thoughtful while also having reasonably challenging expectations for any level of teaching. As a struggling student, Amy was glad to accommodate my slower pace and made sure to have clear communication with me throughout the entire journey. Additionally, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she strived to give everyone a performance opportunity and successfully organized a recital.
Amy has been teaching me piano for over a decade. I will be going to university soon to study music to become a piano teacher, and Amy is definitely part of the reason I want to! She is an attentive and dedicated teacher, always challenging me to do my best. I have really enjoyed my lessons with her, and I honestly can’t recommend her enough!
The owners of this store are amazing!!!! So kind and helpful! I will not go anywhere else for my fabric needs.
Great service, tons of selection with fantastic product! Highly recommend!
Great selection and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Fantastic rewards program for frequent shoppers … and a cool reusable shopping bag! Will definitely be a frequent customer.
I really enjoy going to the Lawson Heights Location.. always friendly and the guy knows his stuff
Staff is very helpful. Well-organized store.
Bought all of my music here and even a record player. I wish they had more albums from 60’s/70’s CTI, ECM, Verve and Flying Dutchmen records though instead of mostly Blue Note and Impulse.
If you’re looking for movies/music or stamped t-shirts, here’s where to go…just wish they’d bring in much more horror films
Cool Beans!!!
Like the selection.
Staff was more interested in visiting friends then helping customers. Overall a disappointing experience.
