Amazing 10/10 everytime I go there .
(Which on average is 2x q week )
After a few hours playing in the snow had a great meal here….great service!!
Delish food. Totally remodelled
Atmosphere, and music is great but really no debit or credit card. You lose customers or sales with out dated cash only. Also too many tiny burnt fries, not just once but on two visits and not just mine. You took the best burger off the menu, the barbcue bacon cheeseburger.
Decent food, good service. It’s not Boston Pizza, but the quality & menu are similar… Great alternative…
Great wings great atmosphere and great live music
Very expensive, small portions, rude waiters….asked me if I wanted my change. Will not be going back.
Sent the food back.. it was terrible. I liked the renos they did but food was expensive. $2.99 for a cup of gravy and $9 for a local beer. Also my kid got very sick(not the flu) after eating there, not sure if it’s connected.
Very slow service
Dried out fries and sandwich
Weak and cold coffee
Very disappointing
8. Atomic Records & Collectibles
Address: 1290 Kings Rd #14, Sydney River, NS B1S 1E2, Canada , Glace Bay , Nova Scotia , Canada
Nice little shop…Tom has some real cool collectibles and a wide variety of music. Well worth a look.
Great selection of music
Love that they have collectibles that are nostalgia to my generation.
Great place to pickup music albums and various collectibles.
Been in twice. Staff are always friendly and answer questions no problem.
Excellent place to find collectables. Staff are great to deal with and very friendly.
Never try to sell to them. They insulted me with their offer.
unhelpful staff (the owner is nice, the rest – not so much), ridiculous prices even for a local record store, and they never contacted me or my friend back about things we inquired about. good selection of collectables, books, games and music equipment however
Prices tend to be on the high side of things…. Even for a local shop. I mean 5-10$ markups on LP’s are fair and I would prefer to support local. But sometimes you find records that have 20-30$ markups over Amazon. Secondly, anytime I asked about them ordering a vinyl I was never contacted. Overall a good store in terms of selection and it’s worth checking out. Lots of collectibles, limited edition products and music though.
9. Best Buy
Address: 800 Grand Lake Rd Unit E64, Sydney, NS B1P 6S9, Canada , Glace Bay , Nova Scotia , Canada
Helped solve my cell phone conundrum; awesome service.
Great service and friendly staff
The Manager gave us a great discount on an old speaker system
Its best buy .lol.
Very helpful staff, but ended up getting a cable that isn’t fast enough.
Workers used to seem to want to help. Now it is like they are avoiding you when you need their help. I was going to buy a few things from them but nobody was around so I went home and ordered online.
A**h*les doesn’t know how to speak to customers. Might not visit there ever again !!
Not impressed with the staff here
Horrible customer service! Rude! I would rather pay double the price then shop there ever again!
10. Walmart Supercentre
Address: 80 Sydney Port Access Rd, Sydney, NS B1P 7H9, Canada , Glace Bay , Nova Scotia , Canada
Great Walmart. Has all essential items you would expect from a Walmart. However they no longer have a photo development facility available any more.
Found what I needed, I’m happy with that!
This place got everything
Not bad
Overall a good place but whoever is responsible for the overhead announcement system needs to fix the volume. It’s too loud, when they start you can’t have a conversation and what’s worse it’s so loud the feedback distorts the voices making it difficult to make out what’s being yelled at you. Makes for a pointless exercise and an unpleasant experience
Meh… it’s Walmart
Worst Walmart I have ever seen. Almost broke my truck driving into the parking lot due to a pot hole the size of an inflatable children’s pool. The parking lot is probably the worst one in the world and I’m not even exaggerating. The store is dirty inside and not very well organized. It’s also insanely busy and service is slow.
The filthiest wal mart I have ever been too. Bathrooms were not cleaned at least for 14 hours, between 8pm and 10:30 am. The store opens at 8, closes at 10, so there is plenty time for cleaning. Especially with Covid, this is disgusting and unacceptable . The parking lot is littered with garbage, spilled food and cigarette butts, there are no garbage cans around the parking lot, there were maybe five clean carts at 8pm, with all the rest filthy around the parking lot. No hand baskets. Staff standing around when they could have been cleaning. Understaffed. No one seemed to care at all about anything.
Very dirty. Needs renos. Most of the staff are rude and arrogant when looking for something.
Great friendly staff, that take the time to learn regulars orders. Mistakes (though rare) are taken back without question and are fixed quickly, love going here
Comfortable as all Starbucks are. A good refuge on a rainy day. Oddly – the bathrooms are not explicitly unisex.
Wonderful and very friendly staff. A pleasure to visit!
Great staff Sharon*
Very nice staff, good drinks.
An ordinary starbucks
Didn’t care for service or menu..and prices high compared to other similar places.
Recently waited litterally 28 minutes in the drive through just for them to get my order wrong. I ordered a basic drink thats listed on the menu with no extras or anything. It tasted like dish water, and the ice ws already melted so it looked like they gave me a premade drink…
Horrible
13. G & G Music Store Ltd
Address: 1808 Pitchers Farm Rd, Antigonish, NS B2G 2L3, Canada , Glace Bay , Nova Scotia , Canada
Friendly willing to answer questions. Great customer service.
The best music store in NS with great service. Thanks Glenn!
Took my son to buy his first guitar and he bent over backwards to sell him a guitar that he would feel comfortable with. He kept giving him guitars and letting him try them out. He added that when one feels right he will know. True enough, my son tried one guitar and said this is it. I love it. Was not the most expensive, but it had his name on it. They got us a case, changed the battery in the tuner, gave it a bolt for the strap and threw in a free guitar stand to boot. He also checked on line to make sure he was giving us the best deal. What an excellent experience. I highly recommend checking the store out. Extremely impressed.
Great selection of new and used instruments
Prices are a little on the steep side, but thank God there is a music store in Antigonish!
Great Owner, and great personalized customer service!!
Paid 95 plus tax for medium strings and a Witter ultra tail piece.
14. AMIGOS AUDIO VIDEO
Address: 480 Grand Lake Rd, Grand Lake Road, NS B1P 5S3, Canada , Glace Bay , Nova Scotia , Canada
They were able to swap out my cloth seats for leather seats. Looks professional and clean. My truck was completed very quickly. I dropped my truck off at 5 PM, and was ready to be picked up by 4:00 PM the next day. Highly recommend!
Upgraded lighting on 2012 Santa Fe
The tech left bare wires exposed to the elements and hanging. Two bulbs burned out within 4 months, no warranty
Not at all the quality of work I was told I would receive when the sale was made at the front desk
15. Giant Tiger
Address: 379 Welton St, Grand Lake Road, NS B1P 5S6, Canada , Glace Bay , Nova Scotia , Canada
Great location, friendly staff and well stocked. Always some interesting finds.
Love Giant Tiger, lots of great deals, cheaper than Walmart and lots of nice clothing! But having said that, the Sydney store is WAY too small for the size of the area and population it serves! It doesn’t make sense that Port Hawkesbury and Truro have bigger Giant Tiger stores than we do with a smaller population. That is why the Sydney store ALWAYS runs out of items on sale in their flyers every week, they don’t have the room for more stock. I don’t understand why they don’t expand the store, the building that it is located in is empty on the left hand side. Giant Tiger could expand into that area. And then they could carry more items like the Port Hawkesbury and Truro stores do. Or else have another Giant Tiger store in Glace Bay or North Sydney.
Service et courtoisie sont aux rendez-vous
Love going here. Great prices and the produce area (although small) have a good selection of products that are fresh
Staff were rude and So unhelpful that it made you feel like you were being a nousience to ask for help with finding stuff.
Morning of flyers … have excellent sales but empty shelves … went in for 4 things from the flyer .. got 1 and not even enough to liMIT per person. . One gentleman drove 40 minutes and didn’t get what he came for and salesperson didn’t care or offer any raincheck … pointless to shop the flyers with these operations
I never realised business is so good at Giant Tiger in Sydney NS that being hostile and turning away customers was a viable company practise. Specifically i ride a very unobtrusive and very expensive bicycle, now when i shop at the other retailers in the area all of them are understanding and with a smile, are more than happy to unobtrusively let me park my bicycle in there rather large and open inner doorway areas no problem. Except giant tiger with a thoroughly nasty expression and a get that bi9ke out of here and leave we don’t want bicycles in here. OK, no problem. My spending used to be quite substantial but now i do not shop there at all for this petty and unprofessional reason. Best of luck to Giant Tiger, it’s not every retailer that can afford to lose business.
16. Value Village
Address: 370 Welton St, Grand Lake Road, NS B1P 5S6, Canada , Glace Bay , Nova Scotia , Canada
Low price,variety of items,useful items,sometimes unique
Great
Lots of nice things, good deals
The selection varies; sometimes you have to dig a bit to find a good value.
The prices are good for the quality of the brand’s you can find; but in general the prices are a bit steep for used clothing.
The “stuff” sections are found to rifle through from time to time. You never know what you might find!
Way overpriced!
You can find some good stuff here.
No one was following social distancing, arrows meant nothing to anyone. Barely anyone wearing masks . There was some decent stuff but we didn’t stay long enough to fully shop.
Prices are to high for second hand clothing
Too many products are way overpriced! considering they get most of their stock for free!
17. Walmart Supercentre
Address: 65 Keltic Dr, Sydney River, NS B1S 1P4, Canada , Glace Bay , Nova Scotia , Canada
Has just about every thing you need under one roof. Great prices.
Overly busy, hard to find people to help you. Self cashier they are there to help you if having a problem
A typical wallmart but the electronics section is disappointing. Mostly TV’s and gadgets. No game consoles or high end laptops
Not like it used to be not helpful just do not go here very much unless I have too .
Could use a little more human resources mgmt. . .
I was falsely arrested by a “do gooder” cashier. She really should have minded her own business and let the loss prevention people do their job. She was yelling and grabbed my baged purchased items and tried to take them from me. I was outside of the store when this happened. I was extremely embarrassed for doing nothing wrong. I would recommend not shopping at this location if you can afford it. Absolutely ridiculous.
several products were expired or already with rotten
18. Buchanans House of Music
Address: 15 Edgewater St, Mahone Bay, NS B0J 2E0, Canada , Glace Bay , Nova Scotia , Canada
Staff are amazing musicians and very nice people, they dont mind sitting down and showing you a thing or two if their not busy which is above and beyond.
Amazing selection of music instruments and professional audio products
Great service, knowledgeable..always a good selection
Helpful staff. Good guitar selection
Great stuff
Knowledgeable staff/ good selection/ a bit expensive.
Worst customer service I’ve ever had in a music store. The staff were rude and unprofessional.
They made my instrument purchase very difficult and I wouldn’t go back.
For the record, this is my 9th instrument purchased and I worked at Musicstop years ago. I know a bad guitar shop when I see one.
Do not get work to your guitar done by these guys, go to Halifax or truro !!!
We rented a PA system from H and R music for an event on a Saturday evening. When we were setting up for the event we soon realized that there was something jammed into the input for the cords, which meant were were left without music for the evening. On a Saturday evening, we had place else to call, or contact. It was very disappointing. I hope they begin to check their systems before sending them out on rental.
