Absolutely wonderful place to shop. No high pressure sales tactics here, staff give you all the information and help you need and respect your space.
Look for Susan for best experience. She is knowledgeable and patience. She helped us choose the most suitable piano for our kids. She even keep providing extended support after the sale. We’ll definitely recommend this store. Thank you Susan!
Tom lee coquitlam staff and manager are friendly andattentive. There’s free parking infront store. But closing time is little bit early .
My favorite music store in the area. The staff knows their stuff, always willing to help and to engage you in a conversation, share tips and advise. No complains
lack of parking around the area is problematic
Extremely unreliable for equipment rental, perhaps good for other stuff.
I rented sound equipment from them for my wedding due to their close proximity to Swan-e-set venue, where the wedding was held.
A few phones calls were made previously to confirm the availability and rates of the equipment: clip-on microphone, hand-held microphone, soundboard, speakers with sound cables, and mini-stereo cables for PC. Many times I was promised that they could work something out. The charges were surprisingly low, with no reservation surcharge, which should have been a yellow flag.
I was then requested to show up in person to apply for a credit with them with my credit card to be able to rent the unit. Then I realized that they had not written anything down from the previous conversation. I insisted that they write things down first with my contact info so things would go smoothly. In addition, I asked to see all the equipment. I asked about extension cables, power cables once again. The person seem to have some hesitation, but promised that on the day they could figure something out.
I called a few days beforehand to notify Tomlee about my helper coming into the store to pick up the equipment as previously discussed.
The following are from my helper:
They made her wait 1 hour while they slowly bring out the equipment. They did not know how to coil the cables properly, so my helper, who is a professional just did it to speed things up. They had no power cable, no stereo cable that long. They couldn’t charge to my credit card and claimed that the credit was just for any future damages and my helper had to pay them on the spot. Their lengthy delay caused my helper to arrive at the venue much later than expected and had to really speed up the setup. (1 hour before the ceremony!)
Then we discovered that the speakers were crap. The soundboard / microphone did not work well. There was way too much static and noise. It took a professional to get it barely running. There was no power cable, we had to borrow it from the venue and there was no stereo cable for a PC.
That part of the wedding was nearly ruined, if it hadn’t been my helper. This could very well be one of the most traumatic experience for her.
My family had hosted things at their space (reticals, etc) and has had generally good experience with this Tomlee, but DO NOT RENT THEIR EQUIPMENTS. They are as unprofessional as they can be when it comes to this. They WILL RUIN your event.
Just stay away.
There is a wide variety of instruments here, also for a great price. But the staff were some of the rudest encounters I’ve ever experienced. I went with some friends, and we all tried out some instruments. The staff were constantly supervising us to the point where it was uncomfortable. They got unreasonably upset or irritated for small problems. And they just made the whole experience horrible. The rudest was a blond woman, who talked in a demeaning tone and didn’t help at all. I genuinely hope that something is done about the staff’s attitude.
This is the worst, most soulless, lifeless music store I have ever been to in my life. I took my daughter here, and from the moment we walked through the doors it was just terrible. Two miserable looking staff members behind the counter didn’t even say hi. They just looked at us as if we were ruining their whole lives by being there. Like, who are we to even bother disturbing them. Not a single other customer was in the store, which is super telling. Also, every single instrument has signs on it to not touch, and ask for assistance. Some is behind glass, some just out of reach entirely. Really? How can you operate a music store with such open distain for your client base? You want me to approach the miserable staff members in order to let me touch one of your sacred instruments? How is that experience supposed to play out, exactly? Give me a break, man. This place is TERRIBLE. I didn’t think it was possible to make a music store the most depressing place on the planet, but here we are. Not exactly inspiring to the youth. Don’t let the pictures on the front of the building fool you – they don’t want your kids there – they don’t even want YOU there. We will never ever return. I urge you to take your business somewhere else.
My son has only been with Mateo for less than a year and I can’t believe how much progress he’s made in guitar. He was able to play his favorite songs within weeks. I basically had to force my son to try guitar as a new activity, but he had really flourished and gained confidence after working with Mateo. I’m so thankful that Mateo was able to bring out my son’s hidden talent!
My son loves learning to play the guitar from Mateo. He looks forward to his lessons with him. Mateo is very reliable and he makes the lessons enjoyable.
Mateo’s guitar lessons does an amazing job teaching my son. They’re patient and they work around our hectic schedule. I wanted to find someone affordable and qualifiable and I found them. My son adores working with them and is learning at a fast rate and loving it. Definitely recommend!

I’m glad to have Dr. Nader as my first piano teacher. Playing the piano as an adult beginner presents a steep learning curve, but his patience and focus on technique while teaching makes it a gratifying experience. The constant feedback makes you feel encouraged and motivated to do better. The curriculum is tailored to the students’ needs and the emphasis is on, as he would say, “quality rather than quantity”.
I really am satisfying to learn Piano. He is teaching basic skills step by step. I like this kind of style. He tells me in detail what I did well and what I should improve after class. Above all, it is very good that the children are learning with great interest because they are kind and inform well informed.
Prof. Ali is very helpful and patient when he is teaching. He focuses on the details that can help me improve my technique. And he teaches according to what I am interested in. He is a great teacher.

I played piano as a child and decided to take lessons again 10 years later. Siroos is a great and knowledgable instructor with many years of experience. He takes a personal interest in students and adapts lessons to the student’s goals and abilities. I really look forward to my lessons and always leave motivated to practice and get better. Could not recommend this place any more greatly.
I’ve had an amazing experience with Arman Music Academy, Mr. Siroos is so professional and patient and my son really enjoyed being with him. Very polite staff and friendly environment. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
6. Sunrise Records
Address: 2929 Barnet Hwy, Coquitlam, BC V3B 5R5, Canada , Anmore , British Columbia , Canada
Solid amount of records, and helpful staff. There’s no reason no to like this place.
Nice workers great selection
I miss when the store was HIV, first time coming back since they changed the name. Didn’t see a single picture of a sunrise or a sunset but all was forgiven when I was able to chat with the wonderful staff. Super Knowledgable and friendly and they follow covid protocols well. The tall handsome manager and the petite green haired beauty remind me of batman and Robin, to find out who is which you just have to stop on by and see them in action. If I could rate it 69/10 I would.
Sunrise doesn’t seem to know what it wants to be. It doesn’t have the depth to make digging records as fun as it is at Apollo music. It also has a movie and cd section and even a small toy section. Basically a scaled down HMV. It isn’t clear what their big draw is. The prices aren’t amazing either.
Not too much variety of old records. Didn’t find what we were looking for here
Glad to find a store that I can kill some time. Lots of stuff that’s suitable as gifts and they provide gift receipts.
Not friendly staff, no greeting/smiling, since Covid-19 the service got even worse. I didn’t feel welcome & staff seemed not happy to see customers in the store.
Very disappointed on Sunrise today. Always my go to record store.
Went in for New Bryan Adam’s CD which they had. $14.99
Also wanted the Bryan Adam’s Christmas CD which says in stock online. But the guy said he can’t order it cause it’s a seasonal CD
So was a bit ticked off. Went to Walmart bought for $13.97. And ordered the Christmas CD from Amazon
very rude staff not very knowledgeable WHAT SO EVER ask for something you will get the same old response “I don’t know” like you are bothering them do not recommend stay away

Great little place to find rare finds at fair prices . Love it.
Very cool store. The owner is super knowledgeable and nice! A must stop!
Awesome record store
Super friendly, good prices, and a well organised collection! I’ll certainly be going back!
Serene and inspiring
Great shop.
Found the building, paid for parking, found the store(finally) open on Mondays GREAT!!
Door was locked Grrrrrr
Not actually a store, their posted hours are noon to 3pm 4 days a week, but they’re not even there.
Edit: Absolutely fair review, we showed up during your extremely limited business hours and you were closed. There’s a sign up advertising private hours but this is not a publicly open business.
Not only is this possibly the most unusual and confusing location for a record store, but when I made the trek out here, the unprofessional staff decided that it was quitting time (or went took a break or something) about 3 hours before their posted closing time. Just from what I could see through the window, though, the store was quite small with pretty limited inventory, so I doubt I would have found anything worth buying anyway. Waste of time.
9. Deep Cove Music

amazing school i go for guitar and vocals, absolutely love it!
Their music and arts camps are awesome. Our daughter loved Taylor and Kaitlin, and as leaders, they were a great team. She got to complete a number of creative projects and the final music video was totally awesome. We hope to take part in more camps as the years go by. Thanks Deep Cove Music.
Super helpful!
It’s ok
Great place for lessons and a teacher’s want to see you perform at your best.
A little expensive, but very good staff.
Be careful about their policy requiring 4 weeks notice to cancel lessons, even if you child is only starting out. Not ideal. Wouldn’t recommend this business.

Our 4-year-old daughter’s music lessons have been a wonderful experience! The instructors excel at teaching the fundamentals of music and notes in an engaging way. They introduce a variety of instruments in the group class, and our daughter has thoroughly enjoyed learning to play the xylophone and more. The teacher’s extensive knowledge and ability to manage a class of 7-8 children is truly impressive. We highly recommend these music lessons for young learners!
I am very happy with my 3 year old daughter’s classes with Bahar. She is quite patient with kids. She has a way of connecting with them and using their curiosity to make them learn and explore.
