I love this antique shop.
They have such a wide selection ranging from jewelry to toys to records…they even have old buoys!!!
The prices are amazing and everything is so organized and well set up.
Nice store with lots of items and the owners are very nice
This is a fun place to visit! Lots of interesting items!
Way too much stuff to take in. Prices are a little bit high but that maybe just mr
Timed from stuff from yesterday’s gone by. Very interesting stuff.
Excellent parking (free ) . All kinds of antiques and collectibles at reasonable prices .
The selection isn’t half bad, but a bit overpriced. I definitely wasn’t impressed with my experience here. When I went to make my purchase, the woman running the place would only speak to my mother, and not to me. She treated like I couldn’t afford to buy what I was purchasing. Left a bad taste in my mouth.. I’ll take my money elsewhere from now on.
Overpriced, not a lot of interesting things. The staff stared us down. Overcrowded and hard to find anything.
Expensive price
2. St. Andrews Home Hardware
Address: 189 Water St N/A, St. Andrews, NB E5B 1A9, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
Cute little store, really nice owner. Sent my husband home with a sample of his beard oil with the option to order online once we are home. Really nice stuff too, I wish I had more time to browse.
I had such a wonderful experience here! The gentleman that helped myself and my mom was very relaxed and made the shop feel so homey 🙂
Beautiful and eclectic collection of eco friendly products. A lot of one of the kind items that makes our annual visit thoroughly enjoyable. Colin also adds a lot to the wonderful experience we have had every time we have shopped here.
5. Boutique La Baleine/The Whale Store
Address: 173 Water St, St. Andrews, NB E5B 1A9, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
So much to look at in this store! There are tons of very cute knick knacks and souvenirs here. Take your time and look at every section of this store because it is packed with goodies.
Wonderful selection of goods, we found a beautiful nightgown and had a wonderful conversation with the staff.
This store has neat stuff. Also look here for potential whale souvenirs after doing a whale tour. We wanted a souvenir but the whale tour places had very little and were closed. We found a cute little ornament here.
One of the larger gift shops in town with lost of random and colourful collections of things.
From gag gifts to fine crafts and kids toys, there’s a little something for everyone.
Great little gift shop. Always something interesting to be found there.
Large store with lots of variety in their gifts selection!
Not accessible and when I asked the lady if i could change my son, the lady working told me there wasnt enough room upstair in the bathroom so I asked if I could change him in the change room and she told me no. What kind of person denies a mother to change her baby? I put everything I was going to purchase down.
6. Great Canadian Dollar Store
Address: 248 Water St, St. Andrews, NB E5B 1B5, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
They have the neatest selection. You never know what you will find.
Love this store
Had what I needed
Lots of stuff, good prices. Not a lot of room to move around though
7. St. Andrews Arts Council
Address: 99 Augustus St, St. Andrews, NB E5B 2E9, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
Oh my goodness had the great privilege of visiting this amazing shop, so many interesting items to purchase. Owners Gail & Steven are so very talented ❤️
Steven and Gail are great!
We stopped in during st-paddys day ( local history shows they have a HUGE Irish influence) and was surprised of the offerings…. especially for dogs.
We grabbed some of the chocolates to go. the bird artwork was vert fine detail, and the chocolate was good.
9. My Space Giftshop
Address: 213 Water St, St. Andrews, NB E5B 1B4, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
All I can say is, it’s a shame there aren’t more stores like this one. This is what a classic boutique looks like, a shop that truly is like being in a shop from the days of when helping people find the perfect something of good quality meets fashion meant something. The service I got that day with that WONDERFUL woman who( I wish I knew her name) was something from the1920s 1930s. I brought 3 wonderful wool sweater that day, one for me one for my husband and one for my brother (who was shopping with me over the phone on a video call) I’m from Montreal and let me tell you I have no regrets purchasing my beautiful navy blue long sweater. I wanna thank that wonderful person who helped me and and catered to my every need without even asking. See you next time in in NB st Andrews (can’t wait)☺️
Didn’t buy anything but they have nice wool sweaters and blankets made in Ireland. Highly recommend checking it out!
Incredible selection and really great staff!
This should easily have been a 5
star review—-if the gorgeous, expensive wool sweater hadn’t been shoved into a tacky plastic bag. Presentation is so important.
11. Warm & Coasty
Address: 185 Water St, St. Andrews, NB E5B 1A9, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
Packed with locally made artisan work, this store is both adorable and stunning. I love, love, love seeing all the beautiful handcrafted items for sale in this shop. The owner goes out of her way to obtain and display crafts made right here in St. Andrews and crafts from nearby communities. It’s a must visit on any St. Andrews excursion.
Yet another quaint shop filled with delights for the eyes. You may think to yourself when you first arrive that St. Andrews has quite a lot of craft/souvenir/art shops. And you’d be right.
However, each has their own uniqueness with staff that have a ton of knowledge about the things going on in their stores and town. This place was no different. My wife couldn’t help but get a few more things from here.
C’est de l’artisanat local. C’est à voir.
12. West Isles Studios
Address: 244 NB-772, Lords Cove, NB E5V 1J2, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
The servers were very nice and the ice cream was delicious!! It was a hot day so the ice cream melted quite quickly but it was still very tasty, will definitely try Moon Mist next time!!
Stopped for ice cream for the family. All five of us got ice cream, they were huge! Most of us bought small cones and it was more than any of us wanted each, very generous helpings all five orders came to 20$. Friendly staff as well. Lots of flavours to chose from. Best to order child size if you don’t want a huge helping.
Great place for an icecream on a summer day. Closed for the winter
Awesome Milkshakes, tons of flavors
Great little spot
Ne prenez pas la crème glacée molle, elle goûte l’eau glacé mais le prix est celui de la vraie crème.
I didn’t hate it it just wasn’t open on Wednesday when I was there.
14. Marée
Address: 147 Water St, St. Andrews, NB E5B 1A7, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
Bright, classic and ethical are how I would classify this clothing and accessories shop.
My wife loved the styles on display in this shop and came home with several things. From the handbags to the shoes and shirts, it all felt classic with a modern take as the purses and such we looked at were vegan leather. I know she is looking forward to going back.
Friendly and helpful staff… ALWAYS a pleasure to shop here!
Marée, one of my favorite places to visit in Saint Andrews..They have very unique beautiful jewelry, purses and bags, lovely clothing and hair accessories..
But most of all, I love seeing
Phoofette !!
15. McGuire Chocolate Company
Address: 174 Water St, St. Andrews, NB E5B 1B2, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
Amazing small batch ice cream. We were only here for three days, but managed to get the brownie sundaes twice! The herbs and flavor of the ice cream are so fresh and strong. The area is known for high quality food, this is the best dessert around
A lovely little spot with a great staff. I ended up getting 3 of their chocolate bars and they even have samples. The spicy chocolate was so tasty and surprising as the heat really does kick in a little into the experience.
It was really interesting getting to see the chocolate making happening right there in Saint Andrews. Next times I’ll spend a bit of time and have a drink or two.
This place had such amazing sal batch homemade ice cream! I wish I would have found it earlier. The waffles made in house were really great too!
Decent hot chocolate but a little small for the price.
Lovely store and staff. Coffee, I usually get a cuppacinno, is very good. They have made in store ice-cream and, crazily, they make their own chocolate. Plus, Hank the cat is an amazing mascot. I deduct one star for the cost, it is expensive, and personally I find the chocolate to be not as creamy as I personally like. Definitely recommend.
Was very disappointed with the staff and drink. It has been the second time we have been here and I have had two very mediocre drinks that are overpriced and cold. I wasn’t even going to write a review until we heard the boss in the back complain about university students coming in and ordering a drink and staying for too long when every time I have been here it has been empty. This is only after being here for 20 minutes!!! It made us very uncomfortable and not welcome here at all. Very disappointing because I love supporting small businesses. Do not recommend if you want to stay in for a coffee
Brownie and hot chocolate had funny taste. Not what you would expect. Mocha tasted burnt and felt like ate 10 chocolate bars after was done drinking it since so rich. Also took a very long time for them to make the hot chocolate, this could be both a pro and con.
We purchased some ghost chocolates (salted caramel truffels) at the Ottawa Chocolate Show at Algonquin College today and we are so disappointed. The chocolates looked perfect, but after biting into them they werent tempered properly and the salted caramel was burnt. Such a disappointment considering they were 28$ for 9 chocolates.
16. The Wee Fabric Shop
Address: 209 Water St, St. Andrews, NB E5B 1B3, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
Lovely fabric shop with unique, high quality fabrics and notions. Great thread selection. Love the Glide threads. Lots of hand made items to inspire those who are thinking about sewing! Cant wait to visit again!
Wonderful customer service. Lots of variety of products. A very pleasant place to shop definitely returning soon
Thanks for doing such a good job on cleaning and fixing my Janome machine ( and the little extras you added). Love it. It had been 3 1/2 years since I had it looked at (which I used to do yearly before moving to Saint John) . It is now so much quieter and runs really smoothly. Love your shop and can’t wait to learn how to use the long arm machine you have in your shop (a birthday gift from my daughter). Thanks again.
17. Red Herring Pub
Address: 211 Water St, St. Andrews, NB E5B 1B3, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
Reasonable prices, great pub food and excellent service!!
Great little pub with a nice atmosphere. I had a lobster roll platter and it was great. Service was good aswell. I would definitely go again.
I have to say, we were most disappointed… the fish and chips were soggy.
Great place food is great
Great food , reasonable orices
My family and I chose this place to eat on our recent visit I got the mussels as a appetizer they were delicious was not the case with the rest of the meal. My friend had hot turkey and the Turkey looked terrible and was dry. The fish was so greasy and under cooked I would not recommend this place and it’s also pricey which I dont mind If the food was good it wasn’t!!
Well, I don’t know what to say. Despite having mostly great reviews my experience at this restaurant was disappointing. My friend and I went there specifically to have some local seafood. The shrimp was swimming in a pool of garlic water, but despite this it was bland. The scallops were rubbery and also tasteless. The only saving grace was the sweet potato fries. Maybe it is just the seafood that is not good. Maybe they were having a bad day, whatever happened, I will NOT be back. I also found it was expensive for what you get.
Just okay. Beer selection was great but service was spread too thin for such a busy place (server seemed very frazzled and overwhelmed…1 waitress was not enough for how busy this place was).
Food was very average (not worth the price) and took a very long time (we read the sign noting the small kitchen, but you have to hold yourself to some expectations). Several tables that came after us got their food faster. We ordered fish cakes, the sandwich of the day and a whistle dog combo. Took about 45 mins.
Even taking the touristy factor into consideration, I wouldn’t recommend going here for food or if you have somewhere to be at a certain time.
Don’t do these 2 star reviews often but believe the restaurant could use the feedback. There is so much potential in this location.
Also…can’t understand why in the world The restaurant would use up so much precious space with a pool table and games at the entry. Throw in 5-6 tables here and you’ve just doubled your interior capacity (for rainy and hot days).
If you’re not in a hurry and are looking for a great selection of NB Brews by the water, this is not a bad place.
18. Salty Towers
Address: 340 Water St, St. Andrews, NB E5B 2R3, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
My husband and I had a wonderful three night stay at the Salty Towers. We stayed in the hillside suite which came equipped with its own kitchenette. It was the perfect home away from home. Beth and Jon were wonderful hosts and we can’t wait to come back!
Had a great time on my visit and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of Salty Towers. Good folks, good fun, good music.
Just awesome, great old place and friendly hosts. The town is great too. A real home for acoustic music lovers.
Bien
Great spot.
A unique experience
19. Quoddy Link Marine Whale & Wildlife Cruises
Address: 20 King St, St. Andrews, NB E5B 1Y2, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
It was nice trip. We saw a few whale, seal and birds.
The staff were friendly and informative, and we lost count of fin whale sightings! Also saw seals, porpoises, bald eagles and lots of birds. I would definitely go on this whale watching experience again.
A super special and exciting experience! We saw every kind of animal – porpoises, seals, bald eagles, a puffin, and even a whale! The tour guides were knowledgeable and funny and the captain was great at pointing out creatures. Quoddy adds lots of special touches like free hot chocolate and cookies and even an opportunity to touch live starfish. 🙂 An all around amazing experience.
This was an awesome experience when we took our daughter and her best friend on the whale watching cruise. We saw a pod of 3 whales together which was unusual according to our guide. In addition, the excellent education provided by the marine biologist on several aspects of the marine life we viewed provided context. It was a pleasant and comfortable voyage for the afternoon.
It was okay. I wouldn’t go again as we saw about as much action as we did enjoying a bowl of chowder at one of the Maine restaurants.
It was a really nice tour. The captain knew where to find the whales and the crew members were friendly. We saw fin whales on our tour.
The only small minus is that we were really far away from them. Seems like it is easier getting a bit closer to them with a smaller boat.
Very expensive.
Not value for money, comparitively expensive than other whale watching.
20. Long & McQuade Musical Instruments
Address: 569 Rothesay Ave, Saint John, NB E2H 2G9, Canada , Saint Andrews , New Brunswick , Canada
Love going here because you get excellent friendly service.
First Class! A big thank you to Peter Doyle who went above and beyond to track down a hard to find amp, purchased and delivered in record time. Thank you Pete!
Absolutely love this location! Awesome staff and great selection of musical goodness for everyone 🙂
Helpful staff super knowledgeable. Very well laid out store.
I paid for something on finance putting down a deposit of several hundred dollars and filled out an entire contract only to be given a half empty reason I could only finance the tax, AFTER everything had been agreed to. The excuse was apparently a made-up policy as I researched on the website and referenced several people who have been to the store. It’s a real shame my first experience trying to buy music equipment and I won’t be back.
Does not answer emails. Does not make the effort to communicate. Since MAY. Clearly has no interest in helping people with limited funds find solutions.
Been going to this store for the past thirteen years since I’ve started playing guitar and I won’t be coming back, which is a shame since there isn’t really any other music stores around the city that compare.
I’ve bought multiple guitars, amps, pedals plus the rest of my gear from here over the years. The quality is there and never had any issues or complaints, until all of a sudden I start getting really loud feedback on my fender strat that I bought over a year ago.
I get the same feedback/interference when testing on two other amps. Tried my other guitars and no issues. So I know it’s my strat that’s the problem. No big deal I’ll just bring it in and pay to have it looked over and hopefully fixed. The customer service from one individual has always been very poor over the last decade. I’ve always tried to avoid this employee for that reason. (Also need to mention that this worker wasn’t who I went too with with my guitar, but was there to assist the other worker I went too)
Told them my situation and I feel like I got blown off. They kept saying strats always give off feedback (which I don’t disagree with, but they don’t give off the noise my guitar was creating) and ignored the fact I said three times it never did this since I’ve owned it the past year. They wouldn’t even offer to take it in and look it over for me. I felt very frustrated and almost like I didn’t know what I was talking about from the condescending way they talked. I just accepted they wouldn’t do anything and left.
Brought the guitar to beats n bytes, they opened up the back, found one of the wires was loose going to the input jack. Problem fixed.
