Ridiculous ( mostly Racist ) customer service. If you’re coloured This store will show you the most awkward experience ever! ( even their coloured staff don’t know how to act ) I already new the guitar I needed. I just needed someone to get it out. Every single person working Tuesday morning glared, stared and avoided us the best they could. They definitely made sure to help white customers tho. I understand it’s a corporately operated business but even a Walmart in Hamilton was less racist then this place. Extremely shocked and dissatisfied with the customer service here. You’re better off going to a small business.

I came to buy a piano and took the mesurement to make sure it fit my place. I came back the very next day with a truck to grab it and the price changed 100$ extra !!!
She said that they did a mistake on the price and it concern another one seriously ?! The employee the day before didnt mentioned it… and the price tag was still on top of the piano at that time.
Anyway this is their fault and not the customer fault. But we tried to find a solution with the manager by adding a bench so we can get it at the price we saw.
But this lady was extremely rude to us and didn’t want to do any arrangement. She was mad and was trying to call her employees that was in the shop the day before to fight them ? Serisouly ? Instead of trying to find a solution ?
What a very bad management. Dear Misses it may be in your company’s best interest to honor the advertised price rather than anger potential customers and fight your employees for a mistake. Hope you thought about it after we left and I told you I will leave you a bad review so here it is 😉
Really disappointing experience with service. I’ve been here twice now. First time a few months ago to check out a piano and at that time as well there was nobody in the store to ask a budget that I have to buy, to play and show a piano or to recommend me a piano for the experience that I have. I’m a beginner player and for a first acoustic piano that I want want to buy I would want to know how good or bad the piano is, which could at least tell me how what I want. I shopped around a few stores and I’ve seen some remarkable service but this one was a real downer. I went back to the store today expecting there would be someone to provide some kind of service but there was nobody who could help me. Just pointing the pianos and telling politely this is all the pianos we have is not a good service. I actually even called an hour ago to let them know I was visiting and asked if someone would be there to help me. I was told there would be someone and they would help but there was no help. I don’t think I would go back and wouldn’t recommend I know to go there as well.
Bought a used tenor sax and is out of tune and can’t even play basic notes. Try to get someone to fix it but even they can’t get it to play right. Disappointing…

They buy and sell used vinyl records and you’re just getting back into the movies on Blu-ray and DVD they sell t-shirts with music references some pop figures some toys and lots of new records and CDs music and they actually have tapes
While visiting this location, we couldn’t find what we were looking for so we wanted to ask an employee. We had to wait until she stopped talking to her friends for her to “help”. She barely looked at what we were holding and quickly said “um, yeah that’s the new one”. The cd (we were actually looking for the lp).
I had a huge feeling she was wrong so I lined up at the cash and had to ask her. She was very kind and went looking for the album. She had to leave the lineup of people to help us when there was the employing who blatantly lied to us. Management if you are reading this oh, it was on Thursday December 20th around 2 p.m. and she had dark hair. The woman on cash was so helpful and went above and beyond.
I was going to purchase 2 records from here, just deliberating over what I wanted. Until i realized that 2 employees were following and watching me and my boyfriend. The only colored people in the store, i felt uncomfortable and decided not to purchase. I’m a retail manager and nothing I did seemed suspicious for people to be following around or blatantly starring at me down the aisle. Being a person in retail I didn’t make a scene I decided instead that I simply just won’t purchase records from here. Disgusting behaviour, I would never make someone feel like this shopping at my store. Your staff could also use some diversity and training.
The most amazing customer service I’ve ever seen. Nikhil and his brother are the best. We ordered a ukelele for my daughter for Eid. Unfortunately, it wasn’t going to make it in time, so they drove from Mississauga to Markham to get it for us. Highly recommended!

This store is more of a guitar lesson company than a guitar store. Freindly staff and a nice atmosphere, but not a great selection of actual product. If you’re looking to buy anything other than your first guitar, look somewhere else.
Dropped by during published hours of operation and the posted hours at the store only to find the store closed tighter than a drum. No sign of explanation posted at the store.Hardly inspires one with confidence.

I don’t do many reviews but this one his worthy. Long & McQuade music store in Mississauga, Ontario deserves praise for outstanding (in my opinion) customer service. Brain, Rory, Christian and Anthony have gone over board to insure that my, very particular, needs have been met. If you want to be treated to service where folks care… go into their store.
I have been a customer for almost 10 years now and I generally have no issues however I think there needs be better communication amongst the staff as well as with their customers. I ordered a part and when I called in for the whereabouts they had told me it had actually come a week prior and I received no email about it. Moreover, they sometimes seem disinterested when you ask questions particularly in the guitar department; they have a lot of great products however and they are always willing to hook you up with an amp and have you test it out. I understand it’s a stressful time now with COVID-19 and everything but just some things I think that can be worked on.

Went in looking for a pedal and waited 15 mins for someone to help us. Eventually went over to someone in another department and asked to have them open a cabinet to which I was told “in a few minutes”. After a while, I finally just went to the cash and asked for help. The pedal I wanted came with a box and was told they would get back to me with the box. After another 10 mins and seeing that staff member help someone else with a pedal and a box, I finally just left. I’ve spent thousands of dollars at this store, which I obviously don’t expect staff to know, but it feels like I was treated very poorly. When I am helped, staff often try to take advantage and con me into spending more. If I didn’t know more about guitars and their products, I would have spent way more than I needed to at this store over the past 10 years or so.
It’s a typical chain-store, the McDonald’s of musical instruments. All the typical trappings of a chain store are readily visible here as the corporation only wants to screw you out of as much money as possible. After all, NO company ever got huge by NOT screwing people.
As is common with big chain stores of all types, the huge, greedy, corporation that owns them isn’t willing to pay for top-shelf staff and the staff that is there becomes, for the most part, disintersted. Their head office is obviously clueless and as a result L&M gets their asses handed to them left and right by their competition.
Make no mistake though, just like every other ego-driven corporate culture, I bet that it’s the store-level employees and managers who must shoulder the blame. This is unfortunate but common as most CEOs are megalomaniacs who seem to think that their businesses exist in vacuums.
Sure, they have a ton of stock but they haven’t prioritised properly. I work in customer service and I could feel the underlying despair that the employees were feeling. This comes from a head office with unrealistic expectations, haven’t we all been there? Just go to any small music store and the experience there will just annihilate every L&M location you’ve ever been to.
The music industry is an industry of passion and unfortunately, while the store-level employees are earnest, it’s quite apparent that there is a massive disconnect between what their head office deems important and what reality deems important.

I purchased a new height adjustable piano bench – the price was fair and the staff helped explain all the features before leaving the store. The staff is very friendly here. There aren’t a lot of selections here in terms of acoustic guitars, don’t expect them to have a huge collection of brands – mostly tanglewood and a couple other brands that I haven’t heard of. I think this store offers great equipment for beginners and intermediate players, otherwise I would suggest L&M or LA Music for more variety. However, they do maintenance and repairs as well … which I would assume their skills to be first-class. If I lived around the area, I’d probably go to them.

When walking into the shop, we were greeted by a super friendly employee who we spoke with for a little while about gear. In terms of customer service, no complaints whatsoever. Polite, professional, and friendly. With that being said, the selection of instruments was dreadful. There just wasn’t much variety in anything there. I would consider bringing in guitars for repair here (the tech seems super knowledgeable), but couldn’t see myself stopping by in hopes of purchasing a new guitar.

I’m sure the owner will have his 2 cents on this review.. people have a right to look and be criticized about it.. people also change their minds.. and say no … some of the items your store sells are 60 to 200 more than your competition. dont know how you stay in business

Keren is such an amazing teacher she makes learning so enjoyable and easy. She taught me how to play the chords to a Mariah Carey song in less than 20 minutes. I would highly recommend this school the teachers are patient, kind and very smart!

All I can say is, they make mistakes and huge ones. But I eventually got my guitar and in one piece.
I live in the states which caused the Gibson to be held in US customs for a month. The guitar is NOS and due to sitting needs a complete set up since the strings are loose. Its a great guitar and the sales folk walked me through and stood with me to the end.

Terrible customer service, ordered online and got no tracking even though I am also located in Canada. Support takes long to reply, gives vague answers. I asked for tracking and got no response. First I got an ETA of June 29, now they said the ETA is mid-july with no explanation. I ordered from LA Music because I thought it would be faster than ordering from USA or any other place, but it turns out it would’ve been faster than LA Music. Never order from here, save your money.
Beware of this store. The customer service was horrible and their knowledge about the instruments they sell is very limited. Their return policy is virtually nonexistent. Take my advice. Buy your instruments somewhere else. These guys are money hungry jerks. STAY AWAY.
Bought a new guitar off their website but wasn’t satisfied with the product (seemed to be previously played and the lower strap button threads were poorly repaired.) My experience with L.A Music was a bit up and down, but overall I did get the guitar I wanted and I would shop there again.
I had been looking at guitars on the L.A Music website for a while as they have the biggest selection of left handed guitars in Canada. If you’re a lefty, you know how hard it is to find a decent guitar for a reasonable price, let alone a shop that even has any in stock.
I placed an order on Christmas day and then let it go for a couple of weeks as I figured that the Christmas/New Years period is a busy time for everyone. By early January my order status had not updated although the information on the shipping page suggested that it should show if items are backordered.
I sent off two emails over two weeks and did not receive a response to either. I then called the store and spoke to someone who was at least able to inform me that there was a problem with the order and they’d look into it and call me back that day. That didn’t happen either. At this point it was almost a month since I placed the order and I had no idea if it was going to be possible to get the guitar I ordered. On the plus side, they don’t charge your card until they can fulfill the order. At this point I probably would have cancelled the order, but I could not find anywhere else in Canada with a reasonable selection of left handed guitars, and I wasn’t willing to try ordering from the U.S.
I eventually contacted the store by SMS. My advice, always contact L.A Music by SMS. They were able to inform me that the guitar was on backorder with Schecter and that the ETA was another 4-5 weeks as Schecter were also out of stock. They also offered up alternatives but I chose to wait.
Closer to the expected arrival I messaged again and there was still a delay. Sam offered up a few more alternatives, and I ended up changing to a different model that was in stock and ready to ship. Sam was very quick to get the existing order cancelled and the new one setup, and even gave me a bit of a discount. The guitar arrived a week or so later on and I’ve been very happy with it ever since.
If I hadn’t have been ignored for so long initially I would give a higher star rating. Ultimately Sam turned things around and I would definitely shop with L.A Music again.
I guess it’s closed now? Drove by today and noticed “For Lease” signs all over the window?

Horrid knowledge and service from keyboard dept. Put in an online order and waited months for it to arrive even thought I was told in would be available in 2 weeks, but they were sure fast to charge my credit card. I find Longe & Mcquade service much more professional and knowledgeable. Will never shop there again!

Actual bill was less than quoted. No pushy sales people. Just very knowledgeable experienced people. Competitive pricing.

I said I’d write a review and I never did get around to it til now, so here goes! Back in the summer I went around looking for new speakers to replace the little theatre in a box crap that I’d had for the last 5 years. My best friend has Paradigm speakers and I thought they sound great, so I figured I’d try that brand first. The Paradigm website said that Peel Audio Video was the local vendor in my area and that’s where I went. If you can get over the fact that the parking kinda sucks in the plaza that they’re located in, it’s well worth the trip. When I first met Rick in there he took all the time to show me the entire line-up. I could’ve been just a browser at that point for all he knew, but he still took the time to show me and there was no pressure at any time like I’ve experienced at other retailers and I must say I was impressed with both the speakers and the service in the store. I didn’t buy that day, but he priced out a set for me and to be honest I felt it was a very fair price. No reason to haggle if you feel you’re getting a fair price. A couple weeks after my initial visit I went back because I was ready. Apparently that worked out in my favour because at the time Paradigm had a new promo to offer up a set of Atom Monitors free with the purchase of Monitor 7s, 9s, or 11s. On this visit I was still up in the air about the sub I wanted to add to the set and again Rick took the time to audition some different subs in there to ensure that I was making the right choice. All I can say is that this place has great service. I’ve been back a few times since. I picked up a turntable for Christmas and noticed that the store carries a nice selection of new vinyl. Brampton itself seems to have a dearth of locations that carry anything worthwhile on vinyl, but the selection at Peel Audio is worth taking a look. If Rick doesn’t have it, he says he can get it for you. I know you can also order new vinyl off the internet, but I haven’t had many good experiences with that. They always seem to arrive in bad shape. So if you’re out there looking for home theatre equipment, car audio, or if you’re an audiophile looking for a new copy of your favourite vinyl album I say try them out. I’m glad I did.

The ignorance of this place is astonishing because i bought a chinese brand stereo they told me they wont even install it lmao . Hey guys didnt you know thats where all stereos are made sorry i didnt want to spend 1000 dollers on a name brand unit and get less features thanks for the help though you guys are definatly real professionals when you cant even deal with installing a head unit . Im actually on my way to a shop now that laughed when i told them what you said when i asked to have it installed and that it might need a slight mod and wouldnt be to hard . At least some people open a business they intend on running well and not turning away customers that have enough money to pay for anything you might have had to do accomplish the job. Real pros give results and the rate it comes at not excuses . My stepdad got me a brand new Ken wood from Peel audio. Within 3 days of it installed it completely broke. I am not able to even listen to the radio in my car now due to them not knowing what they are doing. They were willing to fix it for $300 after waiting months. I am absolutely disappointed with their service and would not recommend this place. They are not reliable
I had Shane from Wee Thunder build a clone of a 150w Sunn Model T and reduce the wattage down to 20w. The amp sounds like a perfect replica of a full sized Model T but with a tolerable volume.
Excellent point to point construction, beautifully wired, cleanly soldered, and solid construction of the chasis.
Shane went to great lengths to make sure the amp was exactly what I was looking for. He gave me every option available from which knobs I wanted to which caps and transformers were used in the construction. Beyond that, when I didn’t have enough knowledge or experience to have an opinion, he explained the differences, which he preferred from experience, and helped me decide which would be the best setup for the specific amp.
During construction, I was given regular updates as to where things were, which components were on backorder (thanks pandemic), and several demos confirming the correct sound for the amp.
All and all I found the experience fantastic and easy. These are not shelf amps that have been manufactured en masse for instant pickup, they are hand made boutique customs that can/will be exactly what you as a player order. I couldn’t be happier with the results and customer service. If the day comes that I need another custom build, this is where I’m turning.
