This is my favourite arts/souvenir shop in Inuvik! I frequented it during my week in Inuvik and the one staff member I met was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely check out Originals on MacKenzie (even though its now a block off of MacKenzie)!
Great place to buy gifts and souvenirs!
Can’t take pictures in here, protect the artists work is all, but so many amazing prints, art work, carvings, jewlery, scarves, wallets, magnets, etc,. Just come and check out everything!!
Good breakfast for a reasonable price in Inuvik. Friendly helpful service and nice surrounding
Great for souvenirs. I wish they had more updated postcard options. The regular postcards had outdated pictures. (Happy to make postcards for you if you are interested with some latest photos.)
There’s everything except a shot glass. Really cool artwork on the outside.
NorthMart is part grocery store and part department store, and all convenience! The biggest store in Inuvik.also features a pharmacy, a lottery kiosk, and eating options in the furthest north Pizza Hut and KFC in the world.
You just don’t get much choice in Inuvik.
But if you need groceries, batteries, a salad or a snow machine – you can get it here.
There is also a Pizza Hut/KFC counter. When I was there you could only choose pre-made stuff in the hot counter.
Open 7 days a week
Shelves often empty and prices a bit high considering.
Um its one of the only places to shop so good or not doesn’t matter when one has no other options lol
Interesting to see what you got to pay when you live this far north.
Good
Nasty washrooms so i told the office and the lady lifted her shoulders lol
Great location an amazing staff. Clean an comfortable rooms
I live in Inuvik and my friend’s parents owned this place at the time. Back in 89. I loved it. Well I loved Inuvik.
Quiet rooms. Comfortable beds. Spacious. Restaurant has good food. Friendly helpful staff.
Beautiful hotel definately the vest place to stay in inuvuk. The staff are helpful and friendly and the beds are super comfy with lots of nice heavy layers on the bed. The restaurant can get super busy.
Convenient location and attached to restaurant/bar. Well kept rooms, although had to wait for front desk staff a few times.
Good rooms and close to everything. Great restaurant in the hotel which makes this better than the rest as you don’t need a cab to get food.
I didn’t stay. They wouldn’t answer the phone. I slept in my truck.
When I was in Inuvik I had to deal with the woman who ran this place, and she was toxic and creepy. I hope her mental health has improved since then, and that the management at this hotel has been improved.
Rooms are clean, but too warm. Staff is not able to fix anything. “Breakfast” is a joke, some cereals and toast with coffee(don’t eat the cream cheese, I’m pretty sure it is left out overnight. Seems very expensive for little to no services. Also, the elevator is broken and only energy exit stairs can be used. I wouldn’t complain so much about a hotel in the arctic, but they advertise as an amazing place and it is a big let down. Finally, they don’t clean your room each night and the restaurant is take out only. They need to hire more people… someone is pocketing a lot of money without putting anything back into staffing.
I had an absolutely great experience here, the server was named moody and he was fantastic, he made us feel at home from the moment we walked in and even suggested his personal favourites, I absolutely loved the chicken wrap. I will definitely eat here again!
The food is good, though expensive. Service is decent.
Good food here and service
Great shop, terrific cook, well done
Best food in the Arctic but not good enough to sell in a real city.
Worst food/service in town but the hours are good, eat at your own risk
