I can only recommend this place 🙂 good staff with exellent helping workers 🙂
Is the musicians heaven
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and if you get your guitar setup here they will tune it up for the life of the instrument.
The young guy at the counter was helpful, not pushy at all. Cozy little store.
Good place for strings and getting last minute items. Decent selection at fair prices. Staff is friendly and accomodating.
Got a basic nylon string guitar for a good price. The storekeeper is very friendly and helpful.
So I put an axe on layaway, it was only a $400 guitar, made more than half of the payments in good time, when I went to pick it up they told me they sold it and wouldn’t refund what I had paid already!!!!! 8(
Wanted to buy pack of strings.. no one would help me. Left feeling ignored. Since MCC does not value sales I have no interest of entering this business ever again. I have no issues giving my business to your competition.
Completely ignored me my wife and son when we were looking for instruments to buy or rent. Guy at the counter was talking to a friend and didn’t even look up at us. Spent half an hour standing around waiting/hoping for anything.
3. Long & McQuade Musical Instruments
Address: 225 58 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2H 0N8, Canada , Gali , Alberta , Canada
What wonderful people who staff this store. Great value for your money on lots of instruments and accessories. And most of all, the rentals folks are the best.
Awesome, helpful staff.
Awesome service even though we came when it was busy, our musical expert was helpful and willing to answer many questions as well as offer suggestions for our specific needs. I would definitely come again to purchase instruments, books and accessories.
Was great. Very helpful.
Good customer service bad customer appreciation. Treated unfairly and product wasn’t available in the store
Great place to rent Yorkville gear and at reasonable prices.
I’ve had excellent EXCELLENT service here before, but also lackluster/disinterested service so my star rating on this gets negated.
I’m docking a star because I don’t find their prices aggressive enough. I can find the same (usually) or better (sometimes) prices elsewhere else or online. I would love to see some market-leading options rather than MSRP / MAP pricing. Perhaps a loyalty program or in-store incentives.
customer service is amazing. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
The issue I have is that i wanted to purchase earphones but was not sure about which kind and model. The employee said that if you Do Not like them you can always return them or exchange them for better ones. I was happy with the return policy however, they do not tell you that if you open the earphone box you can no longer return them. This seems a bit misleading because you can not determine whether or not you LIKE or DISLIKE the earphones without breaking the return policy rules. I wish they told me this information first because I would have definitely put more thought into purchasing them.
Sales guy was giving me the run around on financing. I financed something previously with no hassle and put down 10% on roughly $1700 worth of gear. Wanted to finance another $1800 for another piece of gear and he wanted me to put 50% down payment. I said that was unreasonable given today’s the interest rates. In the end they lost my business.

4. Acoustic Music Shop
Address: 9934 82 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 1Y9, Canada , Gali , Alberta , Canada
Recently purchased a Eastman acoustic. The service and communication from start to finish was great. Have no problem in recommending the Acoustic Music Shop. Thanks to all the team from AMS. .
I’ve been going to this shop for years, and I feel it’s time to give these guys a proper thank you.
I have trusted them with my most prized and meaningful guitars and amplifiers for years.
They are the best guitar store I’ve ever done business with, and no matter how crazy of a repair I have. They fix it in a way that you know it will last.
And even if there was a problem, they fixed it as immediately as they could.
This Shop truly cares about their customers and takes pride in their work.
I’d always suggest checking them out before anywhere else.
I always find the most interesting gear that you’d never expect you’d find there!
AMS is a fantastic music store in Edmonton. They have a wide selection of acoustic guitars including the odd diamond in the rough in the used/vintage room. Rod gives a fair appraisal of your instrument and will work with you if you are looking to trade, sell or consign.
I live in the north end but will gladly drive down to Whyte Ave to give this shop my business for all of my guitar needs!
Cool shop with a nice selection of both new and unique vintage instruments. A real eye opener was the huge selection of hardware (bridges, tuning keys, etc) and electronic parts (pots, caps, jacks, switches, etc).
I walked out with a cool old Matsumoku Raven SG clone for a friend that’s going to be a restification project.
A good guitar store. also has lessons in music.
I was in the market to buy a new electric acoustic guitar. I shopped around at other music stores and found nothing to my satisfaction. When I went to Acoustic Music Shop, Brent was totally helpful and answered any questions I had. Suffice to say later that evening my wife and I returned and I purchased a new Art & Lutherie 12 string acoustic with a pickup that sounded unreal. Brent also gave me a huge discount because i picked up about 500 dollars of accessories.
I highly recommend the Acoustic Music Shop. I am a very satisfied customer.
Purchased an item from this shop on Reverb. Item was not what I needed (my own fault) and tried to initiate a return as per the policy listed on their Reverb page. No one ever responded to my message so now I am stuck with it. Be wary of purchasing from this shop especially if you are ordering online.
Very rude on the phone owner, and a filthy parking area, are not encouraging to use this business.
Dismissive, abrupt, and not very helpful. They wouldn’t fix my instrument because they deemed it “beyond repair”. I took to somewhere else and my instrument is running better than ever.
5. Guitarworks Inc.
Address: 261055 Crossiron Blvd #610, Rocky View, AB T4A 0G3, Canada , Gali , Alberta , Canada
What can I say other than we love this place. The staff are all amazing and helpful. Especially Bruce and Tom who always go above and beyond for us. They always have what we are looking for and if not they get it in for us pretty quickly. I highly recommend this store.
I was searching for a new gig-worthy bass amp upgrade, and had my eye on the new Blackstar Unity series. I talked to Tim at Crossiron and he was incredible. They didn’t have the model I wanted in stock, and after trying a few of the alternatives they had in store, I was still yearning for the U-500. Tim went above and beyond the call of duty to bring one in for me to try and I was absolutely blown away by the tone and features. We set up a trade in for a guitar I was looking to part with and the whole process was incredibly clean and easy.
If you are looking for amazing service and quality brands and gear, talk to Tim.
Expensive but worth It
Great staff. Good selection. Definitely recommend.
Beautiful store
Good and exciting place to be
I went to this store yesterday to buy some precussions, no one ask or helped me, and when I ask for specific item, the sales guy told me go to the back, didnt even assist. I’m buying a $800 worth item and didnt even care. Staff in this store are lazy, and I went here because I saw the reviews are great, but I know that most of it are fake. I’m not happy on this store. Not recommending this store, very poor in customer service.
I believe their friendly as I’ve been in this store before but today me and my boyfriend went in and none of the staff were wearing masks ?? Just felt awkward and uncomfortable tbh
rude owner told us to get out when I did not do anything and was just appreciating the music. yelled “stop” very rudely when my friend was just playing a note. Store was dead, not like there many customers wanting to see.
6. Musicworks Canada Calgary Beddington
Address: 8120 Beddington Blvd NW Bay 103, Calgary, AB T3K 2A8, Canada , Gali , Alberta , Canada
Took advanced harmony lessons with Neil here. Got my grade 10 certification thanks to him. Great instructors, awesome front staff and a welcoming atmosphere at this school. They also teach a wide variety of other instruments as well. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for music lessons.
I love my piano and voice lessons. Neil has extracted my capabilities and set me in a realistic and exciting direction. All the staff are great and my instructor Neil is fabulous. I highly recommend this spot for any of your musical desires.
I have two young girls taking classes at The Beat of Music. They are fabulous to deal with. They always say, and practice, that everyone is family. I could not be happier with The Beat of Music!
A not a large selection of music but has the basics. There are some instruments for sale here. Music Teachers get a small discount.
I was extremely intrigued by the look of the ukuleles in the window and went in to investigate…I was promptly met with rudeness and a condescending tone and the person behind the counter told me not to touch the merchandise as I flipped the tag to look for a price. Keep in mind at no point did i touch the merchandise. As a musician I would never even consider purchasing an instrument without playing it to test for sound quality and tone. I love supporting small local businesses, however, when I’m met with such rudeness I was immediately left with a vile taste in my mouth and will gladly take my business elsewhere to a store where they dont treat adult customers like a 2yr old in an antique store.
First off…… I’ve never written a review about any establishment ever…. but the experience I had today left me with no choice but to share….i went to the “Beat of Music” today in search of some guitar strings for my fiance and upon walking in this poor establishment was met with instant animosity, the man behind the counter was beyond rude from the moment I stepped in…all I was in search of was some medium gauge guitar strings for an acoustic guitar. Nothing specific just a general medium guitar string… simple right?… well the man behind the counter proceeded to make me feel like an absolute ignorant idiot because I didnt have total specifics….however I told him simply that I needed medium gauge strings…that MY MAN played harder acoustic rock just needed a simple medium gauge. Nothing more nothing less. So he made me call my man but asked with rudeness like we were both idiots for not knowing the 2000 different sets of strings and types…I wasnt there searching for something specific just something simple and general and you would think the stores assosiate would be there to help and suggest but when i came back after the brief phone call and repeated what my fiance was searching for… the individual behind the counter came back with ” does he not know the difference in strings” ? Totally condescending remark. Making me feel dumb…then he rolled his eyes and grabbed a pack of strings and literally threw them on the counter and said in a passive aggressive tone “15.75” from me and reached for my card saying debit only or cash! This particular individual has to learn some huge lessons on how to treat people and customer service and how to help people!
I’m absolutely appalled in how I was treated by this individual I work in customer service and I’d never treat anyone like an idiot the way I was treated.
This individual is brutal! And you know who you are!
Thanks!
Well the young lady behind the counter was friendly (automatic 5 stars) but claimed the digital guitar tuner was MORE accurate than other digital tuners; really???? (-1 star)
I normally receive teacher discount from all other music stores I was disappointed that the clerk never even asked if I was a teacher – I’m guessing because they don’t offer one??? (-1 Star)
Adding insult to injury, paying with my credit card for business expenses, she informed me there was a $5.00 surcharge for credit cards –
woa!!!!!!! (-3 stars)
Too bad it’s not possible to post with 0 stars
7. St John’s Music
Address: 700 58 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2H 2E2, Canada , Gali , Alberta , Canada
Reserve a music book and picked up the next day. Nice and easy.
They want to look like they’re closed. Even on big sales events, from the outside, they always look closed when you pass by or even when you pull into their parking lot, I always wonder if they’re even open. Never any competitive sales.
Friendly staff and great gear here
I like them friendly knowledgeable
Selection of everything competitively priced. A little off the beaten path Bkft x58 but meh …
NOT A WELCOMING PLACE! Because it’s so dead in there, the gatekeeper woman, a white skinhead lady, has all the time in the world to stare at you inside the store, make you feel like you’re stealing something! Not all musicians are poor Karen! No wonder you downsized, and closed up branches, not a good business culture. Shut down for the love of music!
Average place
I came into the store as a visitor from another country after I visited a few Long and McQuade stores- after speaking to some people there, I was told St. John’s had a monopoly on Yamaha band instruments. As a Yamaha player, I decided to check it out. The store is fine, there’s plenty of method books (other than the RCM books for specific instruments), but for being the only store with Yamaha band instruments, that had almost none either on display or in stock. It seems like they know if you need a Yamaha horn you have to order through them, so why keep a stock?
I’ve been involved in the music business industry before, and understand there are some instruments that can take months if not years to come in. However, walking into that band room and seeing that there weren’t even displays for every band instrument rubbed me the wrong way. The employees were nice enough and tried to answer my questions, but ultimately I found everything I needed at Long and McQuade… sans the Yamaha instruments that I didn’t find anywhere.

They always help we with what I need, and I always get help on anything I’m not sure about
I went to Long and McQuade this morning, bought a new Jackson and Fender amp for practicing here at the Rig.
It was absolutely amazing to see Mike M. again as I moved from GP in 2007, someone had told me get ready to meet the new Mike, well Mike you are still the same .
It was wicked meeting Tanner,as well as, your Son, man I just can’t believe the time you took to welcome me back and as well, help me pick out new equipment.
This is the place go for ALL your gear needs !!!
This guy will travel 800 kms to get all of my equipment needs taken care of.
You guys kill it..
Loyal customer for as long as the good lord let’s me play.
Best Regards, Ken
I just bought my first guitar and I definitely will be comming back to L&M just For Cade. He was super helpful and knowledgeable. I cannot praise his service enough.
Some good experiences in the past, but when I got there 10 minutes before they closed in need of a new bass, I wasn’t allowed to plug one in. Wouldn’t be a big deal if I didnt live 3 hours away. They didn’t really care they wanted to get out of there, can’t really say I blame them, but wish they would’ve sold me that bass. Lucky for them they are the only decent music store in a 3 hour radius.
I feel let down by their customer service.
I phoned in to purchase a Mic stand for me, I was having a friend pick it up because I couldn’t make it to town, but Tanner told me they couldn’t do that and I’d have to do it all myself online. I have done it over the phone multiple times in the past here and paid by MC. Yes yet again I feel frustrated and let down by their service.
Took a guitar in and asked if they were able to replace a truss rod nut and and perform a set up. Guy at the desk said yes we can do that. Picked the guitar up and was told a new truss rod nut was not needed but a setup was performed. Took the guitar home and the the strings were high off the neck, intonation was off and the neck was unplayable after the 12th fret. Paid $110 for some guy to replace the strings no work was done. Don’t give a cent to these scammers. If i had known better I would have checked the guitar at the counter and refused to pay. —- edit — responded to owner as per his request and my email was ignored — don’t give this guy your business.
Had my les paul set up and the electronics gone through. Paid about 160 all said and done. After about 1 hour of playing my neck pickup started to seem weaker and weaker. Now, a couple weeks later and maybe 4 hours of play time have passed. No neck pickup at all. I pulled off the body cavity cover and found the neck pickup wires just sitting there, no longer soldered to anything. I guess if you want something done right the first time do it yourself.. also asked for them to check out fret buzz on the low E string, and if needed send the guitar to a luthier in Grande Prairie. Guitar was returned to me, still buzzing.. being that I live an hour away this is all super inconvenient. I dont care about the cost, I just want my guitar fixed, properly, and the first time.
9. Guitarworks Inc
Address: 3625 Shaganappi Trail NW G004, Calgary, AB T3A 0E2, Canada , Gali , Alberta , Canada
Me and my mother had a black metal beast guitar that we got from a pawnshop for 350$. But there were things that was messing up the guitar a bit so we took it in to get it fixed and one of the workers, Tim, said that it was too much guitar. So he offered to trade for a better guitar instead, and I don’t regret it! Thank you!
Great little guitar shop with friendly staff and some beautiful guitars. Not much on the low end but if you’re looking for a medium to high quality guitar it could be a good option
I went in to change the guitar strings today. Mark was really helpful. Not only did he change the strings, he even lowered the bridge for me and oiled the guitar. All in about an hour. The guitar never sounded better! Awesome customer service!!
Nice selection
Super friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place. If they don’t have it, they’ll get it.
I don’t know of an exact figure of average prices in Canada, but 70 dollars for a cable and a capo seems REALLY EXPENSIVE.
Went in to try out a strat style guitar as I am looking to purchase one soon. With Covid 19 going on, I completely understand if a customer isn’t allowed to take a guitar for a spin but the way it was handled was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I asked if I could try the guitar, and was asked “Can you afford it? See those two trying a guitar? they’re gonna buy one”. I wasn’t even informed about their policy until afterwards. The man even complained that he had lots of work to do if
I was to try out a guitar. No wonder this place has more 1 star ratings than the Macleod Trail branch. Take your business elsewhere if you care about how you’re treated. Otherwise, if you want terrible service, feel free
to come back to this place. What a waste of time and a joke.
Used to be a cool store but that got ruined for me once me and my friend went to try an electric in the practice room and the manager (I think) came in and started shouting at us for “coming into his house and taking stuff without his permission”. We had permission from the employee working there at the time to try the guitar and we were of course careful not to damage it, and yet the manager still came in yelling and told us to leave for no reason. He also took a picture of me and my friend which was a huge invasion of privacy. We just left because there’s no point in dealing with such a horribly rude person. Will not be coming back to this store again and I recommend you all take your business elsewhere to better stores.
I walked in hoping to check out some t style guitars since I wanted to get my first electric guitar and was greeted by this old man who seemed very grumpy and when I asked him to help, he seemed very displeased to do anything other then roam the store and do nothing. Later in our conversation, I asked if the guitar came with an aging bag and he said no but we could do a bundle deal with a guitar case and amp. I said I was gonna get a amp second hand and this guy straight up told me to get a cheaper guitar and buy a 200$ amp “with a warranty” for the same price. I’ve walked in there many times looking at ukes and the guy is in he same mood every time. I honestly don’t know how this guy hasn’t been fired yet. He doesn’t have basic human manners and not even close to decent customer service.
10. Long & McQuade Musical Instruments
Address: 6633 118 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5B 0P1, Canada , Gali , Alberta , Canada
They have anything you need for your músical adventures.
Hey guys just wondering how much acoustic guitar repair costs? I toke out some negative energy on my guitar and I miss playing it. Just looking for a repair estimate is all. Thanks Peace.
Great store with very knowledgable staff. Rented a violin here for my daughter. The very accommodating staff ensured my facinated little ones enjoyed their visit.
A great place to shop ..friendly cashier’s
Good place
Always love going to Axe. Good service, fair prices.
Go to Long and McQuade guys. There’s a few decent people at Axe, but most of them are jerks. I had come in several times before and every time was full of disrespect and complete rudeness. One example is coming in and trying electric drums. I had begun playing at a very controlled level and one staff member comes in and turns the volume all the way down and walks out. He didn’t bother to say a single word to me. When I asked for an explanation he went on about people trying drums but not buying them. I will never purchase anything from this joke of a place again. The manager doesn’t help anything either, as I told him about my experience and he could care less. Long and McQuade is worlds better. Save yourself a headache.
Didn’t feel welcome in this specific store… Worst manager/ employee or whatever those man’s was!! Judging and laughing at customer.. I could hear them talking behind the backs of customers.. Very disrespectful!! I’m not the one judging/complaining in life normally but I just want to let people know because personally I would not encourage that specific store because of there actions!!
Everytime i went there they were somehow closed.

The people in there is very nice, the service is very good, you come come there with no knowledge at all with no problem.
Amazing selection of instruments.
Knowledgable, kind staff but the real fun is going upstairs and playing every guitar in the shop. I’ve gone a couple times in a week and they don’t mind
Great Customer service from the staff, Got my first Taylor Acoustic guitar and Ibanez here, I love their acoustic room upstairs, wide range of all the good stuff
This is a shop for musical instruments but variety is very small.
So e locations lack customer service and it’s made it 4 stars because they have a great assortment of product.
Brutal. I was going to spend some money there but I was so turned off by the service I walked down the street to the other music store. Next time I will buy online.
Brought a guitar here for a setup because it had some sting buzz and they just move the buzz farther down the neck. Just paid 120 for someone to put new strings on. The staff out were nice though
Have to give this location a 1 star only because they never pick up the phone when you call them and going into the store seem like it’s hard to find help.. I guess I will order from Amazon..
12. Guitarworks Inc
Address: 7110 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, AB T2H 0L3, Canada , Gali , Alberta , Canada
Got my American Performer there. Friendly non-judgmental folks. Played it late Saturday night and was able to resurrect both Jimi and Stevie, we played late into the morning. Steve Vai showed up too, but I know how that goes so we declined. Fell asleep on the couch and woke up to the smell of sulfur and two burned footprints in my carpet.
Would definitely purchase from them again.
Carter was awesome and totally looked after me!!! Thanks guys, you are awesome!!!
Staff are very accomodating
Good inventory of guitars. Prices seem comparative.
Ok
I have purchased many guitars over the years from Guitarworks and have always had decent service. In recent months I will say that the customer service has really tanked. I went in to buy a new amp and was undecided with what I wanted. I was hoping that I could rely on the experience of the staff along with my own prior research to make a decision. I felt like the employee that was helping me was doing me a favour to set up an amp to play. When I asked for his thoughts on different brands he was short and provided no opinions. “I can’t explain it, you just have to hear it”. I get that amps are different but seriously you should be able to speak in broad terms about the differences of the brands you sell. Artist that use them, types of music that sound best thought each. All this to say that I went to L&M and purchased something there from someone who had the patience to answer my dumb questions. I really want to support this local store like I have in the past, but staff changes need to be made there before I return.
Was looking for a cheap bass. Asked the guy if he would throw in a strap and stand which I knew was asking too much but he was so arrogant about it. I’m fairly confident he new nothing about the instruments as well. Anyway I would have bought the bass without that stuff had he any real thoughts about the guitar and wasn’t so rude. I can’t believe he actually got me to go to long and mcuades instead when I was trying to shop local.
They didn’t let us in! Long and maquade is way better treatment
13. Myhre’s Music
Address: 8735 118 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5B 0T2, Canada , Gali , Alberta , Canada
What an amazing place! Simply above and beyond. I’m at a bit of a loss for words; from the minute you walk in it’s more than a store and we left feeling like more than a customer. This is the store you grew up with. When you walk in they recognize you and are happy to visit. It’s a real gem that is impossible to find these days.
Byron helped our daughter with her violin and left her feeling like she’d made a new friend. Thank you for your time and graciousness. She came home excited to play and did so for two hours.
Thank you.
I am associated with the Edmonton ukulele Circle and other circles in the Edmonton and surrounding area. This store has helped with many purchases of stringed instruments particularly ukuleles and guitars. They are terrific. Their knowledgable staff, choice of instruments, service and repair professionals are the very best.Their prices are comparable and in some cases better than bigger stores. They support local music events. Edmonton is very fortunate to have this locally owned and operated store.
I went to Myhre’s looking for a ukulele, and Byron went above and beyond to educate me and find the perfect beginner ukulele/accessories at a very reasonable price. Through his knowledge, experience, skill and time, I was able to make a very clear decision and walked out beyond satisfied. I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Myhre’s Music and highly recommend visiting this family owned and run gem.
Knowledge of these guys was a real help when picking out a new violin for my oldest daughter. After going here no need to go anywhere else
Superb music shop loved my visit
Friendly staff, very knowledgeable and helpful.
Put a guitar on hold here assuring them I was going to buy it in a week, even offered to put money down but they said no need, they would call if anyone else was interested in it. When I came back it was sold and I received no phone call. Not a very good first experience.
Well I could not get in under my own account so my wives name is up.
I have been going to this store for about 10 years and have recommended it many times for the reason others have stated.
So the one star comes from my past two trips to the store. About 6 months ago i was into Edmonton from 3+ hours north. I was shopping for a older guitar so naturally I went there since I have purchased from them before. There was different staff and during this experience I was left with wanting to go elsewhere to find an instrument.
Fast forward to the 10th and I planned another trip to the store. Yet again I left again no impressed. I brought two guitars, one of which was purchased there in 2017. One was newer and the price given left me wanting a second opinion. The second was about 20 percent higher on the trade value. That left a bad taste . Secondly was a much higher price Acoustic from the early 70s. Even in the “poor” condition I was informed it was in, it was still appraised at over five thousand and was informed with a little work it would be worth much more. I was in the market or another fine instrument so I played some there and went back to the hotel and thought about it. SO going back with the information and being told I should expect 80 percent of the appraisal on trade in I went back. After deciding what I liked he reran the numbers and now the number was down below sixty percent of the appraised value. Surprised I asked why the difference? I was Informed they need to make money! Slightly annoyed I packed up my guitar, voiced my opinion to the young salesman, said have a good day to the older gentleman that I purchased my other guitar from and left.
I doubt I will ever return as during my search I have discovered numerous smaller music shops in the area.
As the saying goes: Trust is hard to gain and easy to loose. Just my story.
My response to below.
Some of what you said is accurate. I was informed in the future that if I had work done, (700 to 1000), that the guitar would require a neck reset and bridge done. When shown how to check with a piece of paper, the paper did not go under the bridge. The neck is the same as when I bought it at your store in 2017. At that time there was zero mention of the neck or guitar for that manner needing work. Secondly I was given a trade in value of 3200 and some. It was under 3400, cannot remember exactly. Quick math was over a grand. Along with your other quotes on the second guitar and its value, I was left feeling like I was being taken advantage of.
Even with this experience I would still recommend others to go Myher’s music. As stated above. However I will also names of other small shops which I did not before.
Have been familiar Myhres Music since The 60s nothing but good things to say about this family business and their knowledge of the instrument they sell will always support them

It was nice having help from Donovan when I had problems with one of your competitors.
Really positive and I feel secure if I have a problem with my mouthpiece.
Thanks!!!!
The staff at this store are amazing. The guitar Tech (Dean) did a fantastic job on getting my Bass tuned up. Polished up, neck straightened, and fresh strings put on. It was like bringing my Bass to the spa. Thanks Dean, and the helpful staff at L&M North!
It was fun like always harrison who helped me should get a raise
Friendly people, good prices. Not always organized, but always willing to help.
Great products. I always find what I need here.
First time visiting ! Great professional service and answered all my questions quickly. Will be back !
My roommate and I visited tonight. When my roommate requested information from their staff, they looked directly at him and walked away. 2 staff at the front counter could be heard talking about their weekend plans and not providing assistance.
I purchased an item off of gearhunter. I got a call the next day to inform me that they sold my item even though I had paid for it as no one checked to see if it was purchased through gearhunter so I was given a refund. Pretty disappointing experience. If they have anything on gearhunter that you want to buy, I would make sure to call them immediately after the purchase so they don’t sell your property.
Beware of renting from this establishment.
I went to rent gear. Was given an original charge of 33 dollars for items.
That increased to 77 bucks when I added a bass amp (which seemed excessive).
And then I find out there is a charge for 25 dollars for holding the items for me (no one informed me of this prior). Frankly this seems like gouging to me… And their staff need to be informed of company info like this.
But besides that Dan was very nice on the phone and a stand-up guy… So thanks for hiring solid staff.
15. Innovations Music
Address: 580 St Albert Trail #30, St. Albert, AB T8N 6M9, Canada , Gali , Alberta , Canada
If you live in St. Albert, this is your store. It’s a great place with professional music lessons offered upstairs (Visionary College), it has also been around for a long time. Staff are friendly, owner is really chill, and they have been repairing my gear for years. I’ll say that the prices on amps and guitars are a a little up there, but still cheaper than a lot of places nearby. Still, I think its worth it.
If you want to shop with confidence at a place that stands behind their merchandise and does absolutely everything to make a customer happy, look no further than Innovations Music, St. Albert, AB.
Without disclosing too much, they made my online interaction smooth, with constant care and frequent follow-ups, made sure the guitar I received was immaculate.
I am happy to have shopped here and will gladly do so again. Thanks guys!

Yikes! I’ve had horrible service two times in a row now. I’ve never been spoken to so rudely for simply trying to solve an issue.

Love this place. I bought my piano and my guitar here. Everytime I’ve gone in here, Al has been the one working, and he’s great to do business with. There was even a seperate occasion where I went in here to play a little bit, and some d-bag that had more skill than me heard me went up to the piano next to me and decided to upstage me, and after he left, Al noticed I had stopped playing, and he said something like “Don’t worry about that guy, just keep playing”. I really respected the heck out of him for saying that
Excellent store with a great and knowledgeable staff. Roger was very helpful in answering my questions and really pleasant to just chat with about music.
Great store. Al spent nearly an hour helping me out and offering advice on gear setup. Offered plenty of options and insight, was very informative and helpful to this newbie. Never tried to sell me on anything, he seemed to want to make sure I found something I was happy with. Even offered tips to help maximise my current setup until I do go ahead with an upgrade.
Will definitely be keeping an eye out for his store on Reverb.
Thanks!
I ordered a ESP guitar off of Reverb, through the Rock Shop and dealt with Al.
He was very timely in his responses and information, updates on shipping and everything was a smooth experience down to how quickly the guitar arrived, the condition and quality of it and the packaging job. Would be 5/5 if only the price was beating competition.
Normally great, sometimes busy. Went in today, asked for baritone ukulele strings, she gave me tenor strings.
Stumbled in to the rock shop while exploring the mall. The guy working at the time was very friendly and helpful. I was just browsing and overheard him with another customer, his knowledge and customer service were top notch. Next time I’m in the market for a guitar or amp, the rock shop will be one of my first stops.
The store is a mess, the atmoshpere is painfully awkward, and the only employee is on their phone doing nothing. Some of the guitars are painfully overpriced. 2 stars from me cause of the Stairway to Heaven Joke. Lots of things need to be improved to help make the store much more appealing.
Twice more expensive than other stores. Fender guitar which Best Buy sells for $159 you can buy in this store on sale for only $299.
Store is mediocre, not a great selection of basses only about 6 or 7. First of all, the store wasn’t very organized and there were boxes everywhere. You also have to ask permission to try any of the guitars or basses as opposed to just trying whichever one you please at other music stores. Once I got a bass to try out it was out of tune and the action was way too low. I got the cashier to raise the action but they didn’t tune the bass. Also, none of their amps are plugged in so I was not able to actually hear the bass tone. Worst of all is that when the guy was adjusting the action on the bass, he dropped the bass so that goes to show the quality of the store. That was the dealbreaker for me. Fair prices but subpar quality, if you’re going to buy a musical instrument go to Long and McQuade or Innovations instead.
